We bought Dont Spill The Beans at our local Wal-Mart for only $5.00. This is one of those cheap Cootie games by Hasbro. This game is a lot of fun to play! I remember playing this game all the time when I was a kid and I love having games around the house for daughter to play.

The game board is a bean pot that moves back and forth. The base of the set up is one piece that is about 10 inches long. In the center are two pieces that fit into a slot on both sides. There are yellow hands on the two pieces and they are supposed to be the bean pots hands. The bean pot is in two pieces and they just snap together. There is a shallow red lid that snaps over the top of the bean pot. The lid has a bean design on the top of it.
The bean pot has a face. He has big blue eyes and a great big goofy smile showing his teeth. After you have put the bean pot together, there is part that sticks out a little on both sides of it so that it sits on the canter hand pieces on the base. He will rock back and forth. There are 2 sides on the base that the beans will fall into. There are about 60 beans that come with the game. My husband, daughter and I played the game together and we each had 20 beans with a couple left over. The beans are really small. They are probably only a centimeter long. They are light tan.
How to Play
The game is really simple. That is why I love these games. My daughter had this game when she was 5 years old and the simpler the game, the easier it is for her to play. This game can be played with 2-4 players. You split up the beans between all the players and each player takes turns placing a bean on the top of the bean pot. The first player to run out of beans wins.
This gets more tough the more beans are placed on top. The bean pot will move with more beans being placed. You have to figure out the best place to put them because if one side gets too heavy, the bean pot tips over and spills the beans! You dont want to let that happen because if you do, you have to take all the beans and have a lot more to get rid of!
Oh, this game is fun! It isnt as much fun only playing with 2 players though. There are 2 many beans to get rid of and if you dont use all of them, the bean pot probably would never tip making this game pointless. This is a lot of fun for younger kids and our daughter loves it. Its one of her favorites. I like that there isnt really any instruction because with a lot of games it takes her a bit longer to understand things and learn to play it. The beans are also great to use to learn to count too!
The age recommendations for this game is ages 3 years and older. Older kids my get bored with it. The beans are really small so under age 3 years old is probably too young to play. Our son is 2 Ĺ and he has played with uskind of. He had supervision because he was sitting with the rest of us playing the game. He would put the beans on top of the pot and boy would he laugh when they fell over! He would actually knock it over on purpose just so the beans would fall. Oh, it was funny!
The bean pot is actually a storage container for the beans as well. All you have to do is take the lid off and put all the beans inside. The lid snaps down securely. The game is pretty durable too because as long as we have had this game, nothing has broken off of it. I recommend this one. Its a lot of fun!
