Pros: Cute, like real.
Cons: Face too soft
My sister gave the Hasbro Fur Real Friends Cuddle Chimp to my daughter for her birthday last year. That was when she had turned four years old. My daughter loves animals and have a lot of the Fur Real animals. My sister asked me before hand and I thought it was a good idea since she liked the others that she has gotten so much.
My daughter adored the Hasbro Fur Real Friends Cuddle Chimp. He came with the batteries included. To replace the batteries all you do is simply use a phillips head screw driver to open and close the compartment. He has demo mode, on mode and off mode. Make sure the button above the battery compartment is in the on position for play time. It had been my daughter's favorite gift that day.
The Hasbro Fur Real Friends Cuddle Chimp moves and sounds like a real life Chimp. His fur is soft and smooth. He is dark brown with tannish colored face and under hands and feet. He has silicone like face, hands and feet. Very soft and squishy. Tends to be a problem which I will explain below. The Hasbro Fur Real Friends Cuddle Chimp is meant for children ages 3 and over. He comes with a bottle, a brush and an adoption certificate for your child or you to fill out and make him his/her own. This would be nice for a boy or a girl. I see no gender issues with it at all.
Push his belly and the Hasbro Fur Real Friends Cuddle Chimp will sort of giggle. He will make Chimp sounds when he is hungry, or when you play with his hands and feet. His back has a sensor. I guess I could say that he sort of makes purr noises when you rub his back. His arms and legs will move. If you do not play with him for a few minutes he will fall asleep. You will hear his begin to snore and he will then shut down on his own to save battery life.
The Hasbro Fur Real Friends Cuddle Chimp amazes me as much as all of the other Fur Real animals. He is so real with the way he moves, sounds and feels. The feel of him is the best thing. My daughter sits and watches TV while she pets Bernie. That is what she named her Chimp.
Out of all of my daughter's Fur Real animals this is one of her favorite ones. She does adore him very much. He is a little heavy and sits up great so she can even sit him next to her as she plays or eats. I do let her take him to the table some times. She likes to give him his bottle at the table as if he is eating with us. She has a good little imagination.
My daughter had spent a few days a week all year playing with the Hasbro Fur Real Friends Cuddle Chimp. In fact she still plays with him. But his face is torn and his fur is a bit knotted up. The fur needs to be brushed all the time because if it brushes up against some thing it will clump and knot. As for the torn face. My daughter had walked by the door way to close and the Chimp's upper mouth got caught on the hinge. It tore it like paper. Now he has a big slit in his face. Every little pull or tug near that area rips the face more. Be aware that it is very easily torn and could ruin fast. Be sure to keep him in a place where he won't get caught on any thing. My daughter was sad about it but doesn't mind as much now since he still works, and she still has a lot of fun with him. I do recommend it.
