My daughter bought the Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet for herself. She paid for it with her own money that she gets for allowance every week. My wife had to go to Walmart to get it for her. They paid only $12.99 for it which was a fine price. My daughter was pretty proud of herself for being able to buy it on her own dime! I was happy that she got some thing that she wanted. The truth is we would have bought it for her any way if she did not get it for herself. She hinted at it a few times before she bought it.

How she found out about it:

My daughter watches the Nick channel. They advertise toys all the time and when they were advertising the Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet she went crazy. She loves animals. Especially pigs. So it was an instant want for her after that. I was not too surprised when she expressed interest in it. She does have many other Furreal animals here already.

Aside from the many on line stores that now sell the Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet. You can get it in Walmart, Target, K-Mart, ToysRUs and many other toy stores as well. The price will vary from store to store but the average price is often between $12.99 like we paid and $15.99 which is what ToysRUs now charges for the Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet. The price is good though for what you get out of it.

What you get:

When you buy the Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet you get a brush to brush his soft short fur with. You get an instructional pamphlet, a booklet of other furreal products and a real authentic looking adoption certificate. Your child can fill out the name the want to give the pig, the birth date. My daughter picked the date that she bought it. There is also a spot just for the child's name. It has a golden stamp at the bottom like a real adoption certificate does. Oh and you get a bottle as well.

What it does:

The Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet is rather simple to work. You will need 2AA batteries. These are put in to the case at the under belly of the pig. You need a phillips head screw driver to remove the single screw before putting the batteries in. Once the batteries have been properly placed in to the pig you can turn it on and being playing with it. Keep in mind that this is a "try me" box so even though it comes with batteries you will need new ones right off the bat.

Now that the pig is set up and ready to get going just flip the switch and your play time has started. Push the pigs back or pet him. Then he will arch his piggy back and start squealing and making pig like noises for you. He will wiggle his curly little tail as he he moves around. He also makes a little sipping noise with the bottle. This is a subtle noise and not very loud at all. But the squealing is loud enough to make out very clear, yet not loud enough so that it gets annoying to any one.

How my daughter likes it and how often she plays with it:

My daughter loves her Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet. She named it Core, although I don't get the name it is what she wrote on the certificate. She plays with him every day at least two or three times a day. More some times if we stay in the house. She doesn't carry it around with her out side of the house because she doesn't want his fur to get dirty. She loves how real the fur is and pets him as if he is a real pet.

Age recommendation:

The Hasbro Furreal Friends newborn farm piglet is meant for use by children who are over the age of five years old. It has small pieces such as the bottle and brush which can be a choking hazard. It also stated that you should be sure to remove all plastic ties from the pig before giving it to your child. Be sure to read the warning which is on the instructional booklet that it comes with.

Cleaning:

You obviously can not wash this is your washing machine. It would be ruined! So your better off using a damp, not soaked cloth with a little bit of soap on it if you ever do have to clean it. Fortunately for us our daughter takes very good care of her pig so we have not had to cross this path as of yet.

Thoughts and recommendations:

Our daughter has played for endless hours with her pig. It does not eat up the batteries too fast. In fact we have only put them in the first day she got it which was nearly a year ago now. It did not cost very much and made a very first purchase for my daughter because her small allowance savings were enough to get it on her own. The sounds are clear and the movements are great. It does not skip or shudder during it's moving. I even think it is kind of cute. It makes a real good toy and would really make a nice gift for a child. I would recommend it to any one.
