After seeing Monsters Inc. twice, I was determined to get something from the movie for my daughters for Christmas. For Emily, our 18 month old, we got her the Boo Doll in the Monster Costume, and for Kyra, our 8 year old, we got her Babblin Boo Doll for Christmas.
Who is Boo? Well Boo is not only the cutest child that movies have ever made, but she is also a symbol of the hottest Christmas toy this year! Boo is the black hair, pig tailed girl who befriends Sully and Mike when she is introduced to the world of Monstropolis by accident. She tugs at the heart stings of everyone who watches her, therefore the doll was born.
Why Boo in a Monster Costume? Well Boo couldn't be discovered because they were thought of as deadly to the touch, so Sully and Mike put her into a Monster Costume that they made from the upholstery from their living room chair.
This Boo Doll does not have much to her, but is available to hug for hours on end! Her head is plastic, pig-tails real, and she wears the purple monster costume with the head or "hood" off to peek a smile at you! She does NOT come out of this costume and is considered plush due to her soft body costume.
Compared to the Babblin Boo Doll, this one is pretty much for your child to pretend play with, but it does not talk, make noise, or even available to dress! It's just like a stuffed toy, but with a Boo head on it.
Boo is recommended for ages 2 and up, again, use your own judgement. She cost us only $4.99 at our local Food Store, but is going for over $30 on Ebay because she is hard to find now.
If you would like to purchase Boo, check out the Net first, stores will just get you tired out and stressed!
