I am Optimash Prime and I have the deceptions in my sight. (Again I think of Mr. Roboto)
The new Transformers Mr. Potato Head is a great idea, especially for those kids who love the Transformers but just dont have much luck with transforming them into autobots. My 8 year old loves the Transformers, even before the movie came out last year he was a die hard fan already. For his birthday we took him to the theater to see the movie the day it hit theaters. (It was 3 days after his birthday on July 3rd 2007) Watching him was almost as thrilling as watching the movie that day. We sat toward the front seats and over to the side. Nate sat in the floor at our feet and was so caught up in the movie that he didnt take his eyes off the screen to even get the popcorn. And popcorn happens to be one of the main reasons he likes going to the movies. That wasnt the only thrill of watching Transformers that day though, the entire audience made his movie experience even better with whoops and cheers at the sound of famous lines such as I am Optimus Prime. Waves of applause rushed over the theater at the sound of the autobots transforming. Older die hard fans cheered the autobot leader through the battle and whistled with enthusiasm through key events of the movie. I couldnt have asked for a better crowd to be in that day and the excitement of it all made it a memorable experience for me as well as my son. And now, every thing transformers related appears on his wish list for Christmas and birthdays.
He didnt expect Optimash Prime though. I dont know how we missed it through commercials. Unless it was never in a commercial, but when I came across this potato-bot in the clearance isle at Wal-Mart for only $5.00, I couldnt just walk away from it.
Optimash Prime looks like any other Mr. Potato Head except this guy transforms into a blue and red spud-bot.
The spud body comes with
a) 1 pair of black and white eyes,
b) 1 pair of blue autobot robot shoes,
c) 2 autobot arms,
d) 1 autobot helmet,
e) 1 autobot mask,
f) 1 autobot mouthplate.
He also comes with Mr. Potatos old reliable red button nose, black mustache, and stark white teeth that can be stored in the backside of his body that is referred to as a storage compartment. Optimash Prime also comes with a toy truck that looks like Optimus Prime transformed into the autobot semi-truck. One thing that did not come with Mr. Potato Head is the set of pink ears that come with all the other spud-heads. The package even shows Mr. Potato head with ears transforming into the potato bot. Its not really that big of an issue, but if its part of the image as it transforms then it should be included as one of the accessories. In total there are 12 pieces to Optimash Prime.
Mr. Potato Head Transforms into Optimash Prime just like he would if he was changing his hat, shoes, arms, nose or smile. You simply pull the accessories off and replace them with the Optimash Prime accessories. There are no transforming noises or special buttons to push. Your child simply removes then replaces what he wants and where he wants. Its a simple but fun toy that is made of durable plastic for 2 year old children and up.
Optimash Prime is the fearless leader of the Autotots, a faction of taters battling the evil Decepticons. Starchy situations call for a quick change from truck to robot! No ordinary fries, these are potatoes in disguise
Youll find that paragraph no where but on the package of Mr. Potato Heads Optimash Prime. And, I have to admit that the packaging that Optimash Prime comes in is almost as neat as the spud-bot. Its got catchy phrases all over it such as More than meets the Fry and an excellent Optimus Prime logo that is the width of the box and nearly as tall as the boxs height. So if you can talk your little one into salvaging the box upon opening it, then youll have a fun box to return Optimash Prime to when s/he has finished playing with it. With boxes like this, Id understand why little ones always end up playing with the packaging instead of the toys that come in them. (If you have small fries, then you know exactly what I am talking about)
No worries with this Spud though, if your child loves Transformers or just playing with a potato head, then your child is going to enjoy this pre-fry guy too.
