Cons: Bit part in the movies so far, molded plastic cloak
The Bottom Line: One of the Jedi Council members and a Jedi Master. I would buy him ahead of some of only a few other characters.

| some_guy5's Full Review: Hasbro Star Wars Episode III Agen Kolar Action Fig... |
Agen Kolar is a Jedi Master, not a mere Jedi Knight. Like many of the Jedi figures, he hasn't had too big of a role so far. The box promises that he will show up a little more prominently in the final movie. I will explain below.
Agen Kolar is another part of collection number 2 in the Revenge of the Sith series. I so longed for this figure as a young man, well I didn't at all. I barely know who he is now. Since I have been buying these figures I have been able to pick them out in the movies. I recently watched Attack of the Clones again after buying some figures and was able to name many Jedi either sitting in the Council or fighting in the arena in Geonosis, while my wife looked on with a frightened expression. Agen Kolar is one of those guys. No speaking part yet, but you can find him in the movies if you look carefully. He remains safely secured inside the package. Figure number 20, Agen Kolar is one of my purchases motivated by the small occurrence of his figures at the stores. I opted to buy him ahead of many more well-known figures based on the fact that I figured I could easily buy them later, and I needed some good guys. As with all of these figures, they are not recommended for children under the age of four because the small pieces can be a choking hazard.
The text in this paragraph will be common throughout all of my reviews of Star Wars Episode III basic characters. As far as the durability of these figures, well I don't open them. But I did open some from Episode I and I can tell you from past experience that the small weapons and accessories will get lost. As a boy I tried so hard to keep track of them and just failed. Slowly but surely the guns and lightsabers disappeared. By and large the figures are durable. The heads can be popped off by abuse or a determined push, and the hands can be chewed until they no longer function. That is my best guess as to how well this series will hold up.
Agen Kolar stands 3.75 inches tall. He is dressed exactly like your stereotypical Jedi. He is wearing some loose fitting off white robes, with a v-neck. Over these robes he wears a billowing cloak of darker brown. His outfit looks a lot like old Ben Kenobi's from A New Hope. His outer cloak does not appear to be removable and is made of molded plastic. I have gone on several times in my reviews if these figures about how I prefer the actual cloth capes. He doesn't have one. Agen Kolar has something a receding hairline. The front part of his head is bald with horns of various sizes sticking out. Behind his broad forehead Agen Kolar has a full head of long brown hair. This figure also sports a green lightsaber (why do I want there to be more colors?) From what I can tell, Agen Kolar only has joints at the shoulders. His legs probably move too, but I can't tell that from outside the package. This is another case of a very well detailed face on a small figure. This is such an improvement over the helmeted characters. The face on the toy looks very much like the photo on the package. Agen Kolar does not have a signature move but does come with a terrain base for posing. Maybe these terrain bases fit together to form some sort of meaningful landscape.
Agen Kolar hasn't been much of a actor in the movies so far. You can catch a glimpse of him in Attack of the Clones but that is it. The box guarantees that he will at least show up again in a major scene. The description from the package follows...
Jedi Council member Agen Kolar fought bravely at the battle of Geonosis. Mace Windu considers him one of the Jedi Order's finest members and asks Agen to go with him on a mission to arrest Supreme Chancellor Palpatine for treason.
Here we get another little pre-movie tidbit. You could tell from the trailer they go to arrest Palpatine but here you get some supporting evidence.
Agen Kolar is another figure very much on the periphery of the movies. Without having seen Revenge of the Sith I can't tell if that will soon change. He is a nice figure with fine detail but maybe he should be passed over in favor of characters you know better. Or maybe we will get to know him better in the next movie.
