Pros: Toddler-friendly size. Well-made, durable, plastic.
My son has been wanting a dump truck ever since he saw one at playgroup. Okay...I've been wanting to GET him a dump truck, ever since I saw him eye the other boys jealously at playgroup and they wouldn't share.
So lucky us that my son received CHUCK My Talking Dump Truck for his second birthday.
When you roll Chuck, he has around seven different sayings. These include:
We've Got Work to Do
Let's get another load
DURABILITY & APPEARANCE
He seems to be well-made. Durable, sturdy plastic. His wheels roll easily. You can tilt his dump-bed to unload whatever he is hauling around. And he has a easy-grip handle, making it easy for my son to take carry him around. Although, mostly he rolls around and crashes into his Shake 'n Go Pixar McQueen. I think he thinks Chuck is Mac from the movie Cars.
Chuck is mostly red. His dump-bed is yellow. He wears a white construction/safety hat. He has black tires and a nice pearly-white smile.
The recommended age is 2. But I could totally see my son playing with this a year ago, at one.
Chuck comes with two AA batteries. You need a Phillips Screwdriver to replace the batteries. I am not sure of battery life at this time. The battery compartment is underneath the toy.
As far as birthday gifts go, I think Chuck has made a great impact for my two-year old. It is large enough to haul his other cars, stuffed animals, etc. But it is small enough to be portable and easily brought to grandma's house. And, as a bonus, my 5 month old laughs whenever he sees and hears Chuck! I might have to buy him the talking fire truck, Douser.
