The Bottom Line: Wheel Pals can be your son's next pal.

I think it’s in the genetic code for children to like cars and things that go.  My children’s love of Wheel Pals started with a set of small ones and has only expanded from there.  For one road trip, daddy picked up some special toys to help combat boredom for the four-hour drive - hand sized Wheel Pals.  Each of these runs around $5 each which is a decent price tag for the toy.  The boys each received a different toy one was the Hot Rod and the other was the Taxi that I will review.

Hasbro Wheel Pals are squishy rubbery cars that started with the Chuck the Truck and grew to an entire series.  These Wheel Pals (I’m not sure if this size has a specific name), are a medium size and fit perfectly in toddler hands.  It measures approximately 6” wide X 4” tall.  Each of the Wheel Pals also have a cartoonish face on them.  This little dude is of course a taxi and has the markings of a yellow cab. The colors are bold and bright which definitely attracts the little ones.

On our road trip the boys had a great time running the cars around in their seats.  They are just the right size to hold on to.  There is also the endearing face that the children really like and relate to.  Our taxi guy gets some attention here and there now, but usually the boys like the little figures better - I’m thinking this is because the little ones work in the playsets we have.  When we have road trips again though I will be placing the taxi and hot rod back in the toy bag.

If kids were to have several of these medium size figures they could have a great time pretending with them, especially when the Chuck and his Friends show comes on.  I still see displays with similar cars at Toys R Us and Wal-Mart and they are generally priced around $5 still.  It makes a great stocking stuffer or mini-gift.
