Spending a lot of time out in the sun this summer has required the use of sunscreen on both my children and myself. I always begin the summer with an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30 or higher (the higher the number the greater the protection), and as my base tan gets darker my SPF gets a little lower. So after having started the summer with Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30, within a few weeks I moved over to the tropics, the Hawaiian Tropics that is. I started using Hawaiian Tropic Protection 15 Plus Sunblock.
Hawaiian Tropic Protection 15 Plus Sunblock is a creamy, oil-free lotion that comes in a flip top bottle. It boasts up to eight hours of waterproof sunburn protection and is hypoallergenic and non-comodogenic. This non-irritating lotion is also oxybenzone free and contains vitamins A, C, and E, which are hyped to be “anti-aging” vitamins. Hawaiian Tropic Protection 15 Plus Sunblock is also PABA free and is recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective sunscreen that will help prevent damage to the skin from the sun. Hawaiian Tropic Protection 15 Plus Sunblock provides UVA, UVB, and IR protection. (IR stands for Infrared Radiation ~ something I just learned today but something that sounds like I really need protection from!)
In my opinion Hawaiian Tropic Protection 15 Plus Sunblock is an excellent product. It is nice and creamy, spreads well and easily, and a little goes a long way. It also has a great scent of coconut that I have always associated with summertime and easy living. I’ve found this sunblock to really live up to its claims. I have extremely sensitive skin and I’ve not developed any rash or shown any sign of an allergic reaction to it. As well I’ve used it on my face occasionally and haven’t had any breakouts from doing so. It provides great protection even when swimming. Sometimes I reapply Hawaiian Tropic Protection 15 Plus Sunblock after swimming and towelling off, but I quite often forget to do so and I’ve not had a single sunburn while using this product. Its provided me with great protection even when I spend anywhere from four to eight hours at a time outside with my children. I highly recommend Hawaiian Tropic Protection 15 Plus Sunblock.
