Pros: Does not contain nor smell like tar & is easy and pleasant to use.
Cons: Hair tangles after rinsing. See review for this problem can be resolved.
The Bottom Line: Don't suffer any longer with an itching scalp. Help is in a dark blue bottle! You'll be glad you used it. I was.

How lucky can we be? I mean, on Epinions there are so many products and am I gradually trying to USE THEM ALL? Not exactly, but it's turning into quite a trip.
First, came my Review on L'Oreal Preference ® Hair Color , then my Review on Vidal Sassoon® Thickening Spray, and now I'm writing about Head & Shoulders® Intensive Treatment Shampoo.
FEATURES
1. This shampoo is for ALL TYPES OF HAIR
2. The treatment is for Dandruff & Seborrheic Dermatitis.
3. The dark blue plastic bottle is 15.2 FL.OZ (450mL)
4. The cost was Less than $6.00
5. Active Ingredient is 1% SELENIUM SULFIDE.
Shampoo
After clicking the little top lever on the bottle to get to it, you'll find that the shampoo itself is a creamy pink, rather thick, liquid, but it flows out, unlike previous dandruff shampoos.
It smells like FRESH AIR and leaves no lasting odor or aroma in your hair, just the same freshness remains with you.
After first wetting your hair, just a small amount of Shampoo will create a tremendous mountain of pleasant suds throughout your hair. Be sure to massage the shampoo into your scalp for the greatest benefits.
Rinsing is, of course, necessary. And on bleached, tinted, grey, or permed hair , RINSE FOR FIVE MINUTES. Now this takes in about 9/10th of the women in the world, I should think. I felt this was a little drawback to the product.
Therefore, I called Proctor & Gamble at 1-800-723-9569 to find out the reason for the long rinse time. A very pleasant woman in Customer Relations, CANDY was her name, explained that the above hair types are more porous than other types. If the shampoo is not rinsed out fully there could be problems with breaking down the coloring, etc. It made sense to me.
Candy said that her husband's hair is grey and he uses it, with NO problems, and does rinse for a longer time than he did with other products.
That satisfied me. I've always rinsed shampoo out for a longer time than I deemed necessary anyway, so this potential problem was solved.
I did find that as with some other Shampoos, my hair tangled quite a bit after the rinse. It would be nice if there were a built-in conditioner to solve this. My hair is thick, but fine, so I merely applied my normal conditioner after rinsing my hair. This took care of the tangles, nicely.
A second shampooing isn't necessary, unless you feel it is.
My hair had a nice shine to it and it was easily managed after the shampoo. I can't say that for other products I have tried.
The Intensive Treatment
Now,fortunately, I do not have dandruff, and never have had it in the past. BUT my head itches in-between washings, sometimes to the point where I want to scream.
It's terribly embarrassing to be out someplace and have to keep reaching up to scratch your head. IN PUBLIC. I hate it. Do you have this problem? It's awful.
The continual scratching causes sores on the scalp which could become infected. Perhaps this is the SEBORRHEIC DERMATITIS that the instructions speak about.
I have tried many remedies,with slight or no results, so when I read that this Head & Shoulders® Intensive Treatment is a PATENTED, Clinically Proven Formula I snatched it off the counter (paid for it) and rushed right home to try it. Literally, that is.
I washed my hair as I posted above and went three days before I had even the slightest itch. After the second washing, I did not itch at all and the sores have literally disappeared from my scalp.
I AM EXUBERANT about this Product. And wait until you read the next part.
