| babyinme's Full Review: Head and Shoulders Intensive Treatment |
I suffer from seasonal skin conditions, seborrheic dermatitis, namely in the winter and early spring months my scalp is itchy and flakey. It has done this for as long as I can remember. I use to just suffer through, using whatever regular shampoos I had, until it got to where I couldn't ignore the problem. Until the warm months came along and aleviated the problem naturally, I had to have help.
Needless to say, I spent a small fortune on dandruff shampoos. I would smell like a camp-fire, or like dragon's breath, my husband would say. Or pine tar. And the sad thing is that none of it really worked. So I was a stinking, flaking and itching mess. A couple years ago I decided to give Head and Shoulders Intensive Treatment a try and I've never tried another brand of dandruff shampoo again!
In just a few shampooings my scalp healed up nicely, the flakes are kept at bay and my hair smells plesant. It's a clean, just showered smell, not a like a tar-pit. Very refreshing for a dandruff shampoo. I have no more itching, no more flakes. I have to continue using it through the winter and early spring months, and then in the summer/fall I use it twice a week and use a regular shampoo in between. If I have tangle problems, I take my favorite conditioner and rub a little into the ends of my hair BEFORE I rinse the Head & Shoulders out. Then I rinse and my hair is shiny and manageable.
I recommend using a conditioner in this way to keep the shampoo from drying the hair out. It works wonders on the scalp, but can be a bit drying on the hair. A little conditioner does the trick nicely.
