| mcmaster's Full Review: Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope |
Heavy duty utility ropes are very handy to have around. I have several different types of rope around when ever I leave the house. I keep a Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope in my car, my truck, camping and hunting gear. The heavy duty utility rope is stronger and more durable than your average run of the mill, cheap rope. I do not know why people buy cheap rope. Usually when people are in need of a rope, it is some sort of serious circumstance. Whether it be pulling a vehicle from a ditch, repelling down a bluff or just stringing a safety rope along a narrow trail, you should have a higher quality rope. The Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope is a perfect rope for any of the unforeseen situations that all outdoors people will run into, sooner or later.
Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope comes in several sizes and lengths. I keep everything from the small ⅛ military issue 550 cord, to the ⅝ inch Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope. Cord, twine and rope are some of the most useful things that an outdoorsman can have. The situations which these tools can be used are endless but I will list a few instances which I have used the Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope. I have used the heavy rope to secure vehicles that are unsafe after an accident has occurred on steep ground. I have used rope and a small pulley to hoist injured people up steep embankments or bluffs. You can also use the rope to secure splints or any other number of first aid situations.
The uses for camping are endless. You can use the rope for securing your tent to the stakes or even creating lean-tos. Teach your kids how to create chairs, rafts or shelters using lashing techniques. This rope can also be used as a safety line when crossing water or narrow trails. For fishing you can use the rope and a rock for an anchor when hiking into a high mountain lake with a rubber raft. You can also use a small piece of rope with a knot in the end as a stringer. A person could write a book, and people have concerning what you can do with a rope.
Final Thoughts
If you ever need a rope and do not have one, you could be in a real bad predicament. These ropes are a main stay for anyone that spends much time camping, hunting or hiking. Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope is a great multi-purpose rope. You can use the smaller ⅛ for securing items around a camp, it is very strong for such a small diameter rope. You can use the larger ½ inch as well as the ⅝ inch ropes for the larger tasks that require stronger ropes. It would also be a good idea for you to learn a couple of simple knots. You should learn how to tie these two knots at the very least; the bowline and the square knot. There are some excellent books out there on learning how to tie some very handy knots and even how to lash.
For less than $ 100.00 you can get set up with three 150 foot lengths of different sized Heavy Duty Camo Utility Ropes. If you don't camp that often, just get one good rope. I would suggest the ½ inch rope. This rope is a good medium size Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope. Although heavy duty utility rope will get you out of trouble in a pinch, they are not intended for climbing. There is rope that is specifically made for climbing that you need to buy if you intend on doing some mountaineering. Mountaineering is a whole separate sport that requires some very serious training, gear and practice. I would recommend the Heavy Duty Camo Utility Rope to anyone who spends a significant time in the outdoors. It is also a good idea to keep some in your vehicle. Go camping, it's an adventure as well as getting active in 2005!
