| mommyknows's Full Review: Heinz Junior Baby Food |
I've never tried it myself so I can't say for sure that it tastes better, but my baby genuinely prefers Heinz baby food to Gerbers. I secretly suspect that he likes it more because of the picture of the baby on the side of the jar, but as long as he's eating his fruits and veggies that's okay with me. The Heinz fruits and vegetables he eats have no fillers or preservatives, and their nutritional value is comparable.
I don't mind the savings, either; the Heinz foods cost about 9 cents less per jar than Gerbers. I've saved about 50 dollars this year by buying Heinz Baby Foods.
And there's more, and this is my favorite part: For each jar of Heinz Junior Baby Food you buy, Heinz will donate 10 cents to the Children's Miracle Network, a charity that helps hospitals all around the country give sick kids extra special care, medical equipment, etc. You just save the labels and donate them to your local children's hospital. They accept labels and box tops from all Heinz Baby Food products. I've been able to donate over $50 worth of labels...multiply that by the millions of babies in America eating Heinz baby food products, and the contribution can be substantial.
I have to say that Gerber has more of a variety of flavors than Heinz, but my baby pretty much sticks to the basics and Heinz has plenty to choose from. All in all I've been completely satisfied with Heinz Junior Baby Foods, and with all of the Heinz Baby Food products.
Plus there's that cute baby on the side of the jar...
