Opinion Summary
I Cast My Vote For Heinz Ketchup!

Pros: Great tasting, thick textured rich tomato ketchup with easy to use upside down squeeze bottle.
Cons: It may be a little more pricey, but worth the cost!

Lycopene (Reply to this comment)

Hi there,
Just thought I'd mention that lycopene is present in all tomatoes, so would be in any tomato ketchup. Great job on the review otherwise - sounds like you've done plenty of testing!

sounds like mine. The taste test thing is something the kids would have us do. They love to put spices to Kim's nose to see if she can guess what spice it is that she smells. Very often she is correct.

I agree with you, Heinz rules! There are certain condiments that I will not buy an off-brand and Heinza ketchup is one and French's mustard is another. They have such unique flavors. It was good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well. God bless! Eva

NOTHING compares (Reply to this comment)

to Heinz Ketchup....not even my own homemade ketchup from a Rodale Press recipe. Waaay too much work - good though but too much work.

I like to say, "I like some potatoes to go with my ketchup." I used to drown and I do mean drown, my burgers with Heinz. Not anymore when I learned about the sugar.

Del Monte ketchup is awful. Heinz rules!

Heinz Ketchup is a classic (Reply to this comment)
by lindeisha
One of my favorite things to eat as a kid was a bologna and ketchup sandwich, which now would disgust me. Even though I'm more into whole foods these days, I like to keep a bottle of Heinz in the fridge for comfort - just in case. However, now that I know it has lycopene in it, I'll have to break it out. :-)

I know what you mean! I found out last summer that I have macrodegeneration (wet) in left eye and (dry) in right eye. The eye specialist said I was very young to have both types, but I try to increase antioxidents in my diet. I also have to take two gelcap eye vitamins daily. Thanks for your comments and take care!

"Did you know that Heinz Tomato Ketchup has lycopene which is an antioxidant in it?"

Honest, I had no idea! ;-) And to think I already take a separate daily lycopene pill, when I could have just been eating Heinz, which--I agree--is simply the best-tasting ketchup of 'em all! [If it weren't for the sugar and salt content, I'd be more frequently indulging!]
