I have to admit I like to experiment with hair styling products. When you have thin straight hair like me, you tend to go through many types to find just the one that will work. As a result I have many partially used, and practically unused bottles and tubes of various hair products. With fine hair, many products weight it down and cause it to become more lifeless than before.
With Salon Selectives Stay Flexible Hair Spray I have found a good match for my hair. I have been actually using it nearly from day the line was launched, which has been nearly a year if I remember correctly. I am never without a bottle of it. I use the pump spray instead of the aerosol can, since I do like to be environmentally friendly, and I have better control over the spray this way too.
Stay Flexible can be used in a variety of ways. Here is how I use it most of the time:
After towel drying my hair, I spray lightly with the spray and put my hair in rollers that have metal interiors. I will let them air dry for as long as I have time, but then finish up by blowing them with heat with my hair dryer. The spray helps set the curl along with the heat conducting through the metal of the curlers.
After removing the curlers and styling my hair, I mist my hair with the Stay Flexible spray again. I have found that I use very little because I do not like a helmet head approach to a hairdo. I like soft touchable hair, but hair that will stay in place for a good part of the day.
For a few seconds after spraying I can use my pick or comb and gently arrange any sections that need to be coaxed into place, then the spray will dry to keep the style in place.
The only time that I have had a problem with the spray is when the humidity is WAY UP THERE! At that time I doubt any spray will do a great job of staying dry. Stay Flexible just gets a little sticky/tacky on those days, no big problem in the scheme of things.
Other ways to use this spray:
Full of body:
You can spray your damp hair at the roots, then flip your head over and blow dry the roots in the opposite direction they grow. Then flip your head back and style your hair and spray to hold your style.
Natural look:
Spray on wet or dry hair and run your fingers through your hair to style.
Touch-ups:
Spray into the palm of your hand. Work through your dry hair to refresh your style.
As you may know if you use pump sprays regularly, the hair sprays tend to clog up in the dispensers after awhile. Just rinse the dispenser in warm water to melt the clog and reinsert into the bottle.
Stay Flexible contains a dual polymer system to balance flexibility and hold. This makes it easier to achieve the natural moveable hair you want.
Sunscreen and anti-oxidants are added to care for your hair by protecting from the sun.
The formula allows you to brush through your hair for restyling.
I am using probably approximately my 10th bottle of Salon Selectives Stay Flexible, and I intend to keep this bottle of pale green spray on my bathroom counter as long as they make this line. Why spend more if this works better than others I have tried costing four times as much?
