| jlhin's Full Review: LUSH Cosmetics Helping Hands Hand Moisturizing Cre... |
My hands are always taking a real beating. I wash them constantly and during the winter months they get super dry, cracked and bleed. During a particular bad bout of dry hands I went in search of something that would help to not only soothe but heal them. Loving all things LUSH I decided to give their LUSH Helping Hands Hand Cream a try.
Price & Location
LUSH Helping Hands Hand Cream comes in two sizes; 1.5 OZ for $12.75 and 3.5 OZ for $17.45. When I purchased my 3.5 OZ tub of Helping Hands it was available for a little over $16.00. Prices, unfortunately, have gone up a bit at LUSH.
The Details
As I mentioned above, LUSH Helping Hands comes in two sizes. The 3.5 OZ comes in the standard black LUSH tub with screw off lid. The tub is super sturdy and durable. The 1.5 OZ comes in a handy bottle with pump top lid.
LUSH Helping Hands is touted by LUSH as being a "thick, rich cream that is a best friend to hands in need." It contains an awesome array of ingredients including sweet almond oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and linseed oil.
LUSH Helping Hands is a very light pink in color and, just as promised, very thick, rich and creamy. I was super impressed by the richness of this cream since other LUSH lotions I had tried were slightly thinner than I expected.
The scent of LUSH Helping Hands is definitely different than any other hand cream I've ever tried. To my nose it smells of a light Play-Doh scent. It doesn't necessarily bother me, but, it isn't necessarily a scent that I adore or want tons of. It doesn't last long on the skin though and wears off within 15-20 minutes after application.
My Experience
As I said earlier, I was battling a pretty nasty bout of dry hands that left my poor hands sore and bleeding. Washing them as often as I needed to only made the problem even worse. I had tried other hand creams with no success. I decided to give LUSH Helping Hands a try.
I know I've already said it once but it bears repeating. I was impressed with how thick and rich this cream is. I eagerly dipped into my tub of LUSH Helping Hands and scooped out a dime sized amount. I applied it to my poor, dry hands hoping for the best. It absorbed surprisingly quick for such a thick cream. Right away I knew it was love. It didn't cure my problems with one application, but, it felt amazing. My hands were immediately less sore and felt smoother. There was a slight sheen to my skin. It didn't feel greasy or oily, just smooth and soft. That slight sheen stayed, even through washing my hands. It continued to moisturize my hands as well as protect them.
Over the course of a couple of weeks I applied Helping Hands religiously. My hands were not only feeling so much softer, they were healing. I couldn't believe the drastic change in my skin! By the end of a little over three weeks my skin looked as though I had never had any cracks or sores. My skin felt so wonderful.
I still have half of my tub of LUSH Helping Hands although it has since "expired." Since all LUSH products are made of natural ingredients they have an expiration date. Even though it has expired I still use it even though I have since found another hand cream that I adore. Despite the fact that it's past expiration it still works beautifully.
Overall
I highly recommend LUSH Helping Hands Hand Cream. If you are looking for a hand cream that will not only soothe and soften, but heal, then this one is for you.
