Let me tell you, J.A. Henckels is a very good cutlery brand, expensive, but worth it. However, not everything made by Henckels is good. Take steak knives. I once had Henckels steak knives with wooden handles, and with heavy use, they didn’t last too long. The problem with wooden handles is they break after a while. With expensive steak knives, especially from Henckels, this is an outrage. Best if you invest in something with bonded propylene handles if you plan on washing knives in a dishwasher every time you use them.
What is good about this particular Henckels steak knife is its serrated blade. It is perfect for cutting those tough, dry, gristle and bone steaks your jealous spouse likes to cook for you after you come home from work many hours late. The knife is made from ice hardened German steel, the same used in all Henckels knives, with a full tang (the knife part extending down into the handle) riveted to wooden handles. As with all Henckels knives, it comes with a lifetime warrantee in case it breaks.
