Pros: Good weight and size
Cons: RUST, blade cracked after 10 months of gentle use.
I just loved the henckel knife when I first purchased it. Great weight and it felt very comfortable in my hand. The knife was very expensive, I paid $125. cnd for it. I took very good care, always washing it directly after use and putting it away promptly, not like other knives I had in the past. I would usually put the knives through the dishwasher, the Santoko I gently hand washed it after every use.
The BAD news. After 10 months of use, their are a few rust spots and the knife has a crack in it from the blade to the back bone of the knife. At first I thought it was a hair on the knife and then I held it up to the light of the window and I could see daylight through it! I was so disappointed, I just loved this knife, I thought buying expensive Henckels would allow me to have this knife for many many years! Not so, looks like the quality has gone down the hill!
