With other packing tape, the ripping sound is very loud and it takes more effort to release the tape. There is no such problem with Henkel EZ Start Carton Sealing Tape with Dispenser. It comes off the roll with almost no effort at all.

Another key difference with Henkel EZ Start Carton Sealing Tape with Dispenser is the tearing of the tape. Yes, it comes with a dispenser and there is a metal bar for tearing, but the truth is, you don't necessarily need the tearing bar. The reason is because the tape tears off very easily and with little effort. You can grab the tape between your fingers and tear off a piece.

The greatest problem with this tape is getting it started. As you grab an edge with your fingernail, the tape slowly lifts up, but if you lift it too quickly, it will start to tear vertically. You will then have to grab the other edge and try again, slowly lifting until the vertical tear is eliminated and you have a single, full- width piece between your fingers. Getting it started takes effort and patience and because of this problem, the best way to store this tape is by having the tape edge stretched out over the cutting bar. If you allow the tape to fall back into place, touching the roll, you will likely experience the same problem all over again.

One other issue I have with this tape is its overall strength. It holds small boxes and packages together to a satisfactory degree, but because the tape is so easy to tear, it doesn't have the diverse abilities of other packing tape. If you use it for other purposes, there is a good chance the tape will tear and the items taped together will fall to the ground. Again, the tape is sufficient for packing purposes and it does keep boxes and small packages sealed with a good degree of security. But the tape is less useful for other things, in sharp contrast with some of the stronger packing tape products, which can be used for a multitude of taping/adhesive purposes.

Overall, Henkel EZ Start Carton Sealing Tape with Dispenser is a good product, but not the great packing tape I was looking for. I agree that it performs to a satisfactory level when used as intended, but its overall use is limited and there are other, similar tapes that work just as well and are offered for a lower price.
