devila's Full Review: Henri Studio Tall Lion Alcove Fountain 4 Piece
I work in a store that sells Henri Studio fountians. This particular one, the Tall Lion Alcover Fountain stands at 65 inches and comes in 4 pieces and an array of different colors. The four pieces include the base, basin, a cover to hide the pump and the top pice with the lion on it. The weight is 398 pounds and it uses a 325 galoon per hour pump. The pump sits behind the cover in the basin and sucks the water from the bottom up through the back and out through the mouth and you may also make it bubble up from the top portion of where the water comes out of the mouth. The price for this fountain in our store, (STATS in Redondo Beach, CA) is $700.
We have our fountian in the which is known as Relic Earth, a stain rather than a paint. The stains all have some brown in them and look great... They look great until you start adding chemicals to the water and/or the fountain accumulates calcium or lime from the water. If it is still early in the game and your just barely noticing it, you can usually scrub it off with a coarse brush. If this does not work the Henri lime remover probably will not work either. You can purchase from Henri Studios the stains themselves in little bottles and scrub with a wire brush and touch up any parts the look really bad with the stain. Just use a sponge or paint brush to apply. It is much easier to clean the Standard finishes, which are more like a glossy paint. Much easier to scrape off.
Other than these minor problems, once the fountain is set up you will not have many difficulties. If your pump stops working first try and remove the front part of the pump, after it is off of course (unplugged) and check for any buildup or leaves that may have been sucked in. You can also gently tap it on a surface to maybe knock out any other particals. Make sure you also have plenty of water in the fountain at all times. You should check this every few days. If the pump runs dry it will burn out. It is a pain to take the fountian apart as it takes about 3 people to be on the safe side to undo it and take the pump out to exchange.
