Pros:Keeps my skin free from breakouts, inexpensive
Cons:scent, potentially drying
The Bottom Line: Herbal Authority Tea Tree Oil Soap has kept my skin looking nice. I'm not too keen on the scent though.
I am almost finished with my first bar of Herbal Authority Tea Tree Oil Soap.
What is Tea Tree Oil?
From the box:
“Tea Tree is a pure oil, culled from the leaves of a tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), native to Australia. Traditionally it has been used as a topical agent.”
Herbal Authority Tea Tree Oil Soap
From the box:
“ (this) Tea Tree Oil is meticulously analyzed to ensure that it exceeds the level of oil quality standard decreed by the Australian government”.
Herbal Authority Tea Tree Oil Soap contains 2% oil of Melaleuca alternifolia. The box says the soap is a vegetable based formula. It comes in white 2.5 ounce bars. This is smaller than your typical bar of soap. When I purchased this soap, it came in a shrink-wrapped package containing three boxes of the soap.
I have been using the Tea Tree Oil Soap as my facial cleanser. It produces a nice lather and easily rinses off my face. Tea Tree Oil has a very distinct and to me, unpleasant smell. The only way I can describe the smell of this soap it is as being a very medicinal odor. Being that I use it on my face, I smell it as I wash. However, I don’t know if I’m getting used to it or if there is not as much Tea Tree Oil, but as I am nearing the end of the soap, I don’t notice the smell as much.
I wanted to use a Tea Tree Oil soap because of its claims as being a topical agent. I had read that it is good for acne. This appeals to me since I am prone to breakouts. Since I have been using Herbal Authority soap my skin has been clear and free of breakouts. On a few occasions I have noticed small dry patches. The dry patches were alleviated once I applied my moisturizer. I normally don’t get dry patches, so this soap may be a problem for those already prone to dry skin. I am looking forward to using in this soap on my face during the summer, in hopes that it will help keep oily summer skin under control.
Other information about Herbal Authority Tea Tree Oil Soap:
It also contains cocoa butter.
It is not tested on animals.
It is made in the USA.
I ordered my soap from Puritan’s Pride during one of their buy 1 get 1 sales. It cost me about $8 for two packages/six bars of soap. Considering I only use it on my face I expect it to last me a while. I may not like the smell of the Herbal Authority Tea Tree Oil Soap, but it cleanses my face nicely and I have been free from breakouts. I will have no problems using my remaining 5 bars of soap and will likely buy more when I am finished with them.
