Herbs for Kids makes this great product called Willow/Garlic Oil. What does a mom do when she is tired of antibiotics being given to her child and didn't want to go through the process of hoping tubes would work again?
I went into a local health food store looking for something I could use in my baby's ears because he was seemingly starting on the same routine my older son had, and he had been into surgery 4 times for ear tubes. I didn't want to go through ear tubes multiple times with my 2nd son. I was just wondering around the store looking for kids vitamins when the lady working the inventory pointed me to this Herbs for Kids Willow/Garlic Oil. I have been using it in my kids ears for just over a year now and won't stop using it.
WHAT IS THIS? This product has a olive oil base which has pain-relieving, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.
WHAT ARE THE OTHER INGREDIENTS and WHAT ARE THEY FOR?
Extra Virgin Olive oil - Used as a ear wax softener
Fresh Garlic cloves - Remedy for infection
Calendula flower - Reduces inflammation
Willow bark - Reduces inflammation
Vitamin E oil - Speeds healing
Usnea lichen - Antibiotic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, expectorant, immune strengthener
WHEN TO USE THIS? Use Herbs for Kids Willow/Garlic Oil anytime someone in your family has even the slighest ear ache. We also use it to help loosen the hardest wax build-up in our ears and it works wonderfully.
HOW? Shake well. Always warm the oil to slightly more than body temperature. To warm, place entire bottle in warm water. Test on inner wrist before using to assure safe temperature. Apply 3-5 drops in both ears as needed, up to 5 times a day. Treat BOTH ears when dry and cover with clean cotton.
ANY WARNINGS? Do not use oils if the eardrum has been perforated.
WHY WE USE THIS? We use this because we love natural products in our home and we love the idea of avoiding frequent ear infections and frequent use of oral antibiotics!
DOES IT WORK? Absolutely! Our oldest son has not had a ear infection or wax build up in over a year, and this is a big plus for him. Also our daughter and our youngest son has not had any ear infections either. This has kept our children out of the doctors office for ear problems.
PRICE? Retail price is $9.99 for a 1 oz bottle, which surprisingly lasts a long time. However I did find it on www.luckyvitamin.com for only $5.98. That is a great savings for this product!
