I think I may have to go mug a coworker who, reportedly, has chocolate in his desk

Thankfully we have chocolate bread pudding in the house!

Rex, you have the one with the Red Devil's Food cake and the apple-cheeked youngsters on the front cover?

Excellent cookbook for desserts. I think I may have to go mug a coworker who, reportedly, has chocolate in his desk. I'll be back.

PLEASE tell me this one has Pudding Cake in it.. pleeeeeeeease

:( Sadly no.

"The Chocolate Cake Mix Doctor" has several, although I haven't tried them. There's a mocha pudding cake that I really like in "Cooking Light 5-Star Recipes." There's also a chocolate pudding cake recipe in King Arthur Flour's 200th anniversary cookbook. I haven't tried it, but so far that cookbook has NEVER steered me wrong!

Yeah, I still have a few pounds to lose. So I still make desserts like these--I just try to stretch 'em out a LOT farther. =}

Yay! Always glad to help expand cooking libraries! The expanding waistlines are an unintended side effect, I swear...

Now I'm sitting here wanting chocolate goodies. I may have to go raid my stash of chocolate now..which isn't that large since trying to eat better.
Does sound like a good cookbook.

You've hit on a combination of my two greatest weeknesses; chocolate and books. I'll be poorer and fatter, but I'm going to have to add this to my Must Buy list...

Thanks. I think.

That DOES sound good, and the reliability of the recipes is a rare bonus. It also reminded me that I have a cookbook on Hershey's Best Cakes. I'm looking through it right now. Hmmm, chocolate pear upside down cake, triple layer chocolate mousse cake, chocolate orange marble chiffon cake, streusel apple spice cake...

Somebody stop me before I bake again!!

There's plenty of stuff that isn't chocolate-based, and honestly I don't use Hershey's chocolate with these recipes. Substitution just isn't a problem!

Now I don't eat a lot of Hershey's chocolate, but you have me hungry now. There seems to be a whole lot more to this cookbook than that so maybe I'll pick it up anyway! It would definitely be a good gift for one of my chocolate/baking loving friends! :-)

Good review on this cookbook.

Got that cookbook, too - does that put me in your Mom's generation, Julie?

I gained three pounds just thinking of it.

Ditto - drat you, owling!

... my mother has. It's also a Hershey cookbook, though it's an old one. The recipes? To die for.

Now I really want some red devil's food cake. Drat you, Owling!
