edwardteach's Full Review: Hewlett Packard DVD1040E DVD-RAM Burner
I live in central america and in my particular line of work i burn at least 10 to 15 dvds a day, sometimes up to 20. My last burner was a slim samsumg burner (the kind that is made to look nice and not last) and i killed it in about twenty to thirty days. Then my girl friend got me the "HP dvd1040E dvd-Ram burner" on a trip up to canada for chirstmas. That was about four months ago. Since then i have burned atleast 600 dvds and probably closer to 800 dvds. (They are all between 3 and 4.4 gig). The only bad burn that i have had was after i had bruned about 4 in a row. I more just wanted to see how much it could handle. After three consecutive burns the disks just get too hot and they won't pass the data verification. they still play as they should, just with a hiccup every now and again. I rate this one above pretty much any other burner i have used. I'm planning on ordering another 2 and a couple of other brands. I'm also going to get the hp internal version and I assume it would hold up to the same work load.
