Not a bad note book for the price

Cons: A bit on the heavy side. Brand new model.

The Bottom Line: This laptop is a very good buy for the price and has most features people want. Circuit city had the lowest price.

I have just purchased this notebook for my niece and it seems to be a fairly good unit. As of right now we have not loaded any files to it so I am not sure if the computer will slow down. From people I have talked to Microsoft vista is a huge hog on memory so I went with this model since it has 2 gigs of ram. When I turn on the computer it seems to boot up very quickly. Again it may be also because we have no programs installed yet.
I can give you some specs on this model which include, 2 gigs of memory, 160 gigs on the hardrive, wireless connection as well as read and write dvd/cd and all the other outlets for a laptop. I checked the computer space and the vista program must be huge, because 20gigs of space is taken up by it. When you go the computer specs it now lists only 140gigs of space available.
This should be ample room for a college student I believe. It also has a 1.3 megapixel camera, microphone and altec lancing speakers built in. Speakers are not very loud but I didnt expect much from a laptop system.
The screen is very bright but not as bright as I have seen on a sony model. Those may be the brightest screens I have seen on a laptop but his one does a pretty good job if you mess with the settings.
Again I didnt have all the specs for this machine but it seems like it is a good system. It is also brand new so I will have to get more feedback from my niece when she starts breaking it in. I was looking at similar laptops and for the price of 750 at circuit city nobody could touch it. It only uses the AMD 64 x2 processors and not the intel but you are going to pay twice as much for those.
I will give a update report in about 6 months to see how things are going.

I have finally got the internet on this particular computer. I went with a high speed dialup that uses a tower instead of dsl because my land line might be going away. This would let me utilize the computers capabilites. I noticed the computer does take a bit longer to boot up after it is turned off since now I am on the internet. Other than that the computer uploads websites fairly quickly. Downloads of files from websites or attatchments on the other hand is a bit slower than I would like. It is only 4x the speed of standard dialup so I just sit and wait alittle longer.
I have not played any games on this laptop but might try it in a few months. Websites and pictures look great on this extra bright screen. It is a much better picture than my pc at work and I would say it is about a step down from a sony screen laptop. I still believe this is a good buy for a laptop.
