The Bottom Line: Avoid buying this printer if you use Office 2007, if you don't tolerate paper jams, and if your annual ink budget is less than the value of the printer.

I bought the HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One printer for my home-based business because I wanted to avoid technical problems by investing in a high-end product.
First, within a day of installing the printer driver, my new PC crashed (Vista Home Premium 32, 4GB RAM, Office 2007) and I had to re-install the operating system. I contacted HP and was shocked to learn the C6280 driver is INCOMPATIBLE with Word 2007. The "solution" offered by HP tech support was to install a different HP printer's driver (HP deskjet 990c), set it as the default printer, and then manually select the C6280 each time I print.
Second, "automatically print on bothsides" feature frequently results in paper jams requiring opening the printer from the rear and removing 1-2 sheets of crumpled, ink-smeared paper. When this feature does "work", pages are spit out so fast that some fall on the floor, meaning that when the printer tries to suck them back in to print on the reverse side... they're not there!
Third, the printer is sold with mini ink cartridges designed to go dry shortly after purchase. Consequently, since I bought the printer 6 months ago, I've replaced all 6 cartridges ($150). This ruse may also be used with other printers, but it is nevertheless inexcusable.
Unacceptable problems for an expensive product.
