| gizmo321's Full Review: Hewlett Packard TouchSmart tx2z (FR239AV) (FR239AV... |
I bought the HP tx2z, because I wanted a laptop that was both powerful, small, and has a touch screen.
It is a very fast computer, with 4 gigs of RAM, and 2, 2.1 ghz processors. The touchscreen works perfectly, and the battery lasts a long time. It lasts about an hour and a half on the very highest setting.
The lcd screen is small, but that makes the laptop very light. It is not too small to read articles on. I like to be able to turn it into a tablet pc, or swivle the screen. The inculded pen for the touchscreen works OK, but I always just use my fingers. It also comes with a plastic insert so you can remove the dvd drive to make the laptop lighter when you don't need the drive.
The webcam, speakers, and microphones, work very well, and the laptop is comfortable to hold when using it as a tablet pc.
for $800, you probably could get a slightly faster laptop, but it will not have a touch screen.
The only thing that I don't like about it is that two of the three usb ports are on the back side of the laptop.
