skygrrl's Full Review: Apple iPod classic 4th Generation from HP (40 GB) ...
I originally owned a second generation 20G iPod, but have since outgrown it. I am now the proud owner of the 40G.
First thing to do with any iPod is purchase a case or cover for it, as they do scratch quite easily. I bought a Lava iSkin, works great AND glows in the dark!
Interface is easy, with either a PC or Mac. I use this 40G pod on my mac, but I bought my husband a mini iPod and he finds it easy to use on his PC. iTunes is an easy intuitive interface to use.
I have no problem with the battery life, I usually get minimum 6 hours, more often up to 8 hours on one 1.5 hour charge. However, I use a car charger adapter in my car, so that I can play my iPod (hooked up to my desk speakers) for 7 hours at work.
Not the cheapest mp3 player, but worth the money.
For those who complain about sound quality, I often find that they have burned the music at lower than a 128kps rate to save space. If you play certain songs quite often, this thing has the space to burn them at 162 or 190 rate. But I feel that the quality of 128 kps is fine, unless you are a nitpicky audiophile. (Not that there is a thing wrong with that.)
