Highlight Color Sticks: I Have Used Them For Years

Product Rating:
Pros: Bright colours Nice little box
Cons: To soft Smears too easily
The Bottom Line: This five colour box of Highlighting wax pencils is of limited use. Though I use it every year, I can't recommend it for most applications
These Highlight Color Sticks for many years. Perhaps more than thirty years. There are five colours that are neatly stored in a small box with a sliding clear plastic sleeve.
Used For Clown and Santa
I used them in my younger years when I was doing work as a Clown/Magician to enhance some of my make-up. I use them now, every year when 'ol pops does his Santa/ St Nicholas dress ups.
This is a set of five crayon like waxy pencils. The consistency is a bit more loose than crayon with a true wax feel. This set has five colours, Black, White, Blue, Green and Red. As a clown I did use the red as a fill in between well defined penciled in borders. As Santa I use the product to temporarily white the hair on my true beard and side burn area that may be slightly seen under the Santa Beard and Wig I use.
Not a Good Make-Up
Each highlight stick is wrapped in a gold foil that is simply pealed back as the product is used. This is a non-toxic product that my wife had once used as an addition to her face painting brushes and colours.
This product is too soft and none defined to use as a good face paint makeup. The end result, and we had tried many years ago, is too sloppy. Even with the sharpener a good solid point just doesn't happen. The other problem is that this doesn't dry. It is easily smeared by children who have any of it used.
It's OK for horror use when well defined lined areas are not a criteria.
In the end I can recommend this for some limited use but overall it is not an easy product to master.
