Pros: Cats love the taste. No u/i's have resulted since on food.
Cons: Cats want to be fed frequently. Weight gain. Sometimes constipated.
The Bottom Line: I recommend the food because it has kept my cats healthy and free from u/i's. Side effects are managable.

I have 3 unrelated female cats all diagnosed with urinary tract infections. What are the odds? My vet stated 3% of the cat population have u/i's. As I have read, the cause may be due to food, the food brands I used prior to the condition were: Blue (dry&wet), Purina Naturals (dry), Fancy Feasts, and Friskies (can). All cats transitioned well to the c/d by mixing some old food with the new food for a couple of days.
They LOVE the c/d, but I suspect the food must make them feel hungrier than normal as they all get vocal, wanting to be fed at least 3 times a day. They all have gained weight on the food, averaging 12 lbs. from 10lbs. It is hard to feed them less as they get rather insistent about being fed and frequently. I've taken to given them small amounts throughout the day since I work at home.
Sometimes the cats get constipated. I have found that feeding them the wet/canned version of c/d helps some with this or, in bad cases, I give them some Laxatone.
It is vital to keep fresh water available at all times, especially when just feeding dry.
I feed all my cats a strict diet of c/d. If table scraps or another food brand is entered into their diet, they will come down with a u/i. The c/d has definitely kept the u/i's away.
