| Brettkatt's Full Review: Hill's Science Diet Turkey Formula |
As some of you know I have been married for close to three years now. Before getting married I have always had dogs for pets. My wife came complete with a cat. Always being a dog person I was not too thrilled with this. Over the years I have warmed up to what I now refer to as a furry ball of joy (because he does act like a dog) or Böo-boo, which is his name. Now I do find one fault with him being that likes to eat everything in sight. For example he love my food and he loves bugs. Besides that there is only one more thing that I dont care for and my wife agrees; it is his love for tuna. On the days that I, or my wife Tracy, or both of us make tuna for lunch Böo-boo has to get involved. As soon as one of us thinks of tuna Böo-boo starts circling us and will meow continuously until he gets some. He will go as far as trying to climb up our legs to get to the tuna. Eventually he will always get the tuna he craves. Something had to be done, he had to be stopped before eats all the tuna in the world or at least ours. We decided to go out and get him some special food for these special occasions. We got him Hills Science Diet Canned Cat Food.
The Science Diet cans come in two sizes: 3 oz. and 5.5 oz. They also come in several flavors such as Ocean Fish, Beef Recipe, Liver & Chicken, Turkey recipe (the one I am writing about today), and some others mixes. The cost of the 3 oz. can is $.49 at PETsMART and the 5.5 oz. can is about $.89 (I am not really sure the actual cost since we only buy the smaller cans). Now the recommended serving on the label says to feed your cat between 2 ½ cans to three cans a day for a 10-pound cat. Because we use the Science Diet cans as a decoy we only feed Böo-boo about 1/3 can at a time (he has his regular Science Diet Food to eat).
The Turkey recipe comes in a small can with the Science Diet logo on it as well as the name of the food inside and a silhouette of a cat. The can has a pull-tab top and a smooth bottom. Once the top is off the contents are a brown, pasty textured cylinder of food. The food is very mushy yet it comes out cleanly with a butter knife or can be scooped out with either a spoon or fork. As far as most pet foods go the smell is offensive; the Turkey recipe is not offensive in any way (unless you dont like turkey). In fact the smell of it is rather inviting but being cat food I will refuse to taste it. The flavor must be pleasant because Böo-boo goes right for it and will completely ignore us and our tuna, even when he is finished eating it. Besides that there is truly nothing more to this can of cat food.
As far as the taste goes for Science Diet Turkey I have no actual idea how it is and how it tasted. From watching Böo-boo gobble it down I feel that there something in that cats will love. Dont take it from me but take it from Böo-Boo that Science Diet Turkey is something that your cats will absolutely love. Coming form my cats mouth if you love your cat you will treat him/her to Science Diet Turkey.
