Pros: Bowie loves it, a lot of real ingredients
Cons: nasty, pasty look
The Bottom Line: If you are looking at your dog's nutritional needs as opposed to price of food, this is a good deal.

| pichu210's Full Review: Hills Science Diet Canine Maintenance Chicken Form... |
Bowie has been my best buddy since college and it's nothing but the best for him. That's why I feed him Science Diet.
His favorite flavor in the canned variety is Chicken.
Science Diet canned food comes in a variety of flavors and runs about $1.69 per can. Bowie, who is a Lab mix, eats 2-1/2 cans per day. There is a chart on the label on how much to feed your dog according to his or her weight. The label also tells you how much to feed if you are mixing it with dry food.
Bowie has eaten Science Diet since he was a pup. I like it best because there are a lot of real ingredients in each can. The first nine ingredients listed are all real food. In the case of chicken flavor, they are water, chicken, liver, cracked pearled barley, corn meal, meat by-products, dried whey, natural flavors and vegetable oil. Just in case you didn't know, ingredients are listed on a label from most included to least.
I personally like the look of chunky canned food, but Bowie doesn't seem to mind the pasty look. The food is light brown with no gravy. The food comes out of the can in one big lump. It can be cut up with a fork, but Bowie doesn't give me time for that. It also smells somewhat appetizing instead of the disgusting smell a lot of canned dog foods have.
For the price and the nutrition provided, I think that Science Diet is the best deal out there.
