Pros: Colors, resolution, multitude of inputs and source settings, weight and remote universal remote.
Cons: Screen is subject to "burn-in"and the universal remote is complicated to program.
The Bottom Line: Prices are dropping, programming is increasing. If you want to upgrade to HD this is an excellent choice.

This HD receiver has excellent capabilities, a multitude of connection options, and is easy to set-up. The picture is sharp and crisp and the colors are rich and well defined with no discernible halo. Although I have mine is routed through my home entertainment system, this receiver has excellent sound. It is well-known that "plasma" receivers are subject to burn-in (the dimming and loss of brightness and colors from logos or streaming information such as stock market quotes along the bottom of the screen), the manual explains how to reduce the possibility of that.
This unit has every possible kind of connection, from HDMI (2) to the old fashioned RCA input, s-Video, and composite jacks. When using any of the connections other than HDMI you have the option of Full screen, Zoom1, Zoom2, Wide-screen, and Wide screen expanded. With HDMI (the best type of imput) your selections are limited to Full screen, Wide screen and Wide screen expanded.
In addition to the many input choices, you have a half dozen source options (Video 1-3, satellite, DVR, VHS) and every possible combination of color, brightness, contrast, etc. The TV can be placed on a table, or shelf on the included stand (the stand has a motor that you can use to move the TV from side-to-side for better viewing) or hung on the wall with an optional wall mount. The plasma TV's have very wide viewing angles as well.
The universal remote can be programmed to work all of your electronics. It is attractive with subdued blue back lighting of all buttons, however it is not especially easy to program.
