| susidee34's Full Review: Homedics Backmasseur Deluxe Massager Lss 10h |
For Christmas last year (2000) my eldest got me a back massager. ‘Not to suggest that you are getting old Mommy (36 and still calls me Mommy) but to ease those tired muscles', he said with a smirk on his face. I harhumphed him, but gratefully accepted the massager. It sat for days, vanity I guess, then I broke the bad boy out.
The HoMedics BackMasseur LSS-10H is a sleek little guy, shaped like the back of a chair. In fact, it is designed to slip over the back of a chair and is held in place with elastic straps that are attached to the unit. Then you plug the baby in, looking ever so longingly at the attached control switch.
What's this, you ask ..... you can have heat (oh, yeah!) and vibration (double yeah!) but not only vibration, you have dueling vibration (sweet Jesus). Yes, my pretties, an upper back vibrator with adjustable speeds and a lower back vibrator with adjustable speeds. Blessed be to the Gods above, HoMedics is the answer to a landscapers prayers even though I haven't toted a shovel in a few years (the back is still bad - grin).
So, snuggle down in the chair I did and switched the little knobs - heat (yes, indeed), upper back on low and lower back on high, and waited for the experience. After three minutes I was praising the Almighty and thanking the HoMedics Gods everywhere. Ten minutes into the episode and I was calling the massager ‘Big Daddy' and I swore we would never part. We became fast friends as I switched the different modes for different feelings.
Sure, but what about those long car trips when my back is tense because of the passenger in the car, 15 hours into our trip, and she refuses to leave the vehicle to even take a restroom break - but that's another story. Well, HoMedics musta had a mother like mine, because they include an adapter to use Big Daddy in the car. Just plug the adapter into the cigarette lighter, adjust the controls, turn up the volume on the radio and tune out the mumblings next to you.
Those gentle massage fingers run up and down your spine, the heat pulsates, and all is right with the world. Even being stuck in a car for 15+ hours with the queen from Village of the Damned, but I digress.
The unit is contoured to fit the lumbar area of your back with a nice thick padding. To clean the unit, simply wipe off with a damp cloth, but please disconnect from electric source before you do, just for good measure. As I said, it comes with a 12V automobile adapter, and a AC home adapter. It also comes with a 2 year warranty, which is a nice feature for a small appliance.
HoMedics does suggest, in their included brochure, that you do not use this product in the prone position (I'm not asking any questions) and that you refrain from sleeping with the product running. Of course, from my years selling hot tubs and spas, I understand the theory behind this. There is a point where the muscles can become too relaxed.
So, kids, for those tense days at work, slip the HoMedics BackMasseur LSS-10H into your office, plug him in, and tune out the stress. Take him home at night and enjoy an evening on Epinions while you get that loving feeling of warmth and hear that low sultry hum, letting you know that you are receiving just exactly what you deserve. Or even, stuck in that car, relieve yourself for a while, courtesy of HoMedics. Nothing, however, can be done about the companion in the car, I've checked and they don't make the appropriate product.
By the way, the heat feature is an option, it doesn't have to be used all the time, but - Oh, baby - why would you cheat yourself like that?
