Pros: Good food, good bed, good sleep.
Cons: Did I tell you about the water?
The Bottom Line: Overall, it is a good hotel. They offer inexpensive good food and good sleep. I don't care for the town.

I came prepared for the worst. I once lived in this town and never thought much of what was there, especially the hotels. Now, for the first time in a long, long time, I had to spend some time in the hotel.
My rate was $111.00/night (discounted) for a king bed room. The usual taxes added another $14.04/night to the bill. That included a one-time coupon for $5 off food or drink in the restaurant/bar, a small bag of snacks, and $20/day credit to order breakfast off the menu.
I ate breakfast one day only. It was much better than I expected and my bill was only $10.60 for a skillet breakfast (potatoes skillet fried with sausage, bacon, mushrooms, onion, and sweet peppers; two eggs cooked to order; and two pieces of toast), coffee, and eight ounces of juice. The coffee and juice were additions to the skillet breakfast listed in the menu and not included in menu's price. The only reason I ate there only once is that I had engagements for food in other places the rest of the time I was there.
The hotel has only three stories. I was on the third with a "beautiful" view of the roof of an abandoned outlet strip shopping center. The center wasn't old, so it at least it didn't look trashy. There are a couple of fast food joints within easy walking distance.
The hotel is easy to reach by using the Old Spanish Trail exit off I-10 and is on the "east" (south) side of I-10 on the service road (Voter's Road). It does offer a small meeting room. There is an indoor pool and a whirlpool available. The gift shop is mosly about buying snacks.
They have free Internet access available in the rooms and a couple of computers with s-l-o-w connections in the lobby. There is also a printer available. Local phone calls are free.
Just a couple of miles east on I-10 is a truck stop long noted for having a selection of working ladies, should anyone have an interest.
The room is spacious and larger than many I've stayed in. The bed was comfortable, the TV good (they even gave accurate channel listings in multiple places in the room!), and the bathroom a little close.
The door of the bathroom would not open all the way. It hits the bow bar for the shower curtain. If you are using the toilet, you WILL at least partially close the door or you will do it side saddle. The shower/tub is ample, especially since the bow bar goes out so far. The shower/tub is a single unit designed to help keep water in the unit instead of on the bathroom floor.
I hope you are not very tall. The ceiling in the bathroom might be about seven feet off the floor. In the shower/tub, it has only about six feet of clearance. Still, with the way the curtain is designed, you get plenty of light and ventilation in the shower.
The really "off" part is the water. I didn't remember it until I saw it in the toilet - and smelled it. The water has a yellowish tint and it smells. No, it isn't body waste. It's sulphur. The town has sulphur water. Fortunately, it isn't too bad.
I have to admit that I told my co-workers about the town before this visit and I was not kind about anything in the town. I will have to say I was somewhat disappointed to have to eat my own words. This hotel was worth staying in, despite the yellow water. I can't say that about the rest of the town.
