I expected a lot more from Holiday Inn! I can say that the room service and cafe food was excellent (better than most of the high priced resorts, and the prices were very reasonable), and the location was good (close to the Gas Lamp district, Seaport Village and the beaches). However, the front desk customer service was AWFUL. Parking availability was horrible (don't bring an SUV or van, you will have problems finding space!), and the rooms were worse than I expected. There aren't vending machines on each floor, so if you want something to drink, you have to wait forever for an elevator, or you have to get it from room service. Also, we were promised a non smoking room with a view....what we got was a smoking room with a lovely view of the freeway. The last part of our vacation, we stayed at a Quality Inn Suites, and I liked it MUCH better than the Holiday Inn.
