Pros: Tastes like fruit cocktail, full of vitamins
Cons: Doesn't do what it claims, and has some very unpleasant side affects
The Bottom Line: I can't really expect people to learn from my mistakes, but please don't try this. Talk to your doctor, and he/she will tell you the same!!!!

| gdwtch22's Full Review: Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet |
I bought the Hollywood 48-hour miracle diet online. I purchased several bottles so a few friends could try it with me. I was a little shocked at how much it costs, but I thought it was worth a try. I'm not severely overweight, but I just had a baby in December and still have a few extra pounds to shed. My friends and I were very excited about trying it. We picked a weekend (they instructions suggest you do it on a weekend) that worked for all of us and it was a weekend no of us would soon forget!!!!
The drink is made up of some relatively simple things:
water, pineapple, apple, orange, grape juices, apricot peach and banana purees, vitamins a, d, e, c, B1, B2, B6 and B12, niacin, folic acid, and bergamot, tangerine, lemon, orange, and lavender essential oils. This all sounded plain enough, and not harmful in the least.
We followed the directions and mixed 4 ounces of the concentrated drink with 4 ounces of bottled water and sip for four hours, and repeat three times a day. The drink tastes pretty good. Sort of like a fruit smoothee, but it's not satisfying at all. You are not suppose to eat drink anything else while taking the product. The first 4 hours were easy. It was when I started on my second drink that I noticed some annoying and painful side effects. I had to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes. I started to feel nausea and stomach cramps. Then the diarhea started (and didn't stop for two days). My friends called to tell me they were experiencing the same side effects. I started to feel weak, and lightheaded. I was feeling so weak I couldn't even hold my new baby. When it came time for my third drink of the day, I decided not to. I just couldn't take feeling the way I did. The bottle says "lose weight while you cleanse, detoxify, and rejuvenate your body" The only time I felt rejuvenated was when I finally ate again. As for the side effects, they continued for about another day. I lost two pounds, which I quickly gained back. My friends quit using the product after the first day too. All of them gained they weight they lost back too. I consulted my doctor the following week and he told me it is never a good idea to starve your body. It may give you a quick loss of weight, but it will come back just as quickly. He also told me when you don't eat, your body thinks it is starving and will hold onto the fat it has. The first weight to go is that from muscle. He told me it is never a good idea to not eat. This product is a sham, it doesn't do what it claims, and it doesn't tell you about possible side effects either. If you are determined to try it, you could do it a lot cheaper by buying a bunch of fruit, bottled water and vitamins. I'm certainly no better off for having tried it, in fact I feel like I lost a weekend because of it. I'm almost embarassed I had my friends try it with me!!
I have learned a valuable lesson from this though, there are no quick fixes for weight control. Talk to your doctor and figure out a plan, you'll be better off.
