Pros: I lost weight and I'm not dead...
Cons: I thought it was going to kill me!
The Bottom Line: This is obviously a temporary "quick-fix" as far as weight goes and was a challenge to stick to. May be good for someone just wishing to detoxify their system.

| mswingvalley's Full Review: Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet |
Well, first off I'll start by saying that although this wasn't easy or particularly fun, I do think it was good for me. Isn't that always the way?
I purchased the Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet after reading about it on a website but I don't remember what it was about what I read that caused me to actually buy the product. The fact was that I was very discouraged with my weight and was actually looking for a "miracle" when there it was on the top shelf of the diet section in the supermarket. I mean it said "Miracle Diet" right there on the label. Ok, I'm not one of those people who usually fall for advertising gimicks and outrageous claims, but like I said, I was desperate. Oh, wait! I didn't say desperate, I said discouraged...but really, I was desperate.
I'm only fifteen pounds overweight but all my fat lives in my belly and boobs. I've had three children and put on five pounds successively after each child. No amount of diet or exercise has made even the slightest dent in my weight, so I was one "Miracle Diet" away from just throwing in the towel and accepting these 15 pounds as part of my body rather than an alien invader.
The night before starting the diet I read a few reviews, good and bad, and seeing how no one I came across had died or was seriously injured, I was confident to go ahead with it. At 4:30 the next morning (yes, I have a bit of insomnia)I began.
The diet comes in a plastic juice bottle and is essentially a concentrated blend of Fruit Juices(Pineapple, Apple, Orange, grape), Purees(Apricot, Peach & Banana),Vitamins(A, C, D, E, B6, B12, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Folic Acid & Pantothenic Acid all are 75% of the daily value) and a "Special" Blend of Essential Oils (Bergomot, Tangerine, Lemon & Orange).
The directions were to mix 4 ounces of the juice concentrate with 4 ounces of water and sip for the next four hours, then repeat three more times. You do that for two days. It also said to drink at least 8 glasses of water in addition to the juice a day. Last but not least it said to avoid coffee, tobacco and alcohol. I almost choked right there. NO COFFEE??!! I didn't think I could do it without my daily two cups of Joe in the morning and my two nightly glasses of "wind-me-down" hooch(wine)so I didn't but those were my only no-nos.
Other than the coffee and wine, I stuck to the diet exactly as directed. Surprisingly, the first day I was full of energy and felt only slightly hungry from about 10:00am to 3:00pm. These are usually my snacking hours though because the kids are in school and I tend to get bored, so it may simply have been habit that caused me to feel hungry. The juice is delicious and very satisfying. Very Yummy Indeed!
The second day however, was much harder. I tried to do my daily yoga but found that I was light headed and weak. Also, I was extremely irritable and woke up with terrible stomach cramps. It didn't "clean me out" as I had expected and in fact, I felt more "clogged up" than before I started.
In fairness, the second day could have been tainted by the fact that I haven't been sleeping very well lately and may have been coming down with a cold. There were moments that day that I seriously thought I would DIE if I didn't have something solid to eat, but I'm here to tell the tale so that obviously didn't come to pass. And really, the only reason I stuck with it was that I couldn't justify paying $25 for a bottle of juice without something to show for it.
The Results: I am 7 pounds lighter and 10 times brighter! Hopefully, I have learned my lesson and will not subject myself to these types of "quick-fixes" again. The diet was good for me in that I think I can accept my fat belly, sort of...its not worth killing myself over. I know the 7 pounds will be back by the end of the week as it was just water and not real "fat". I'll just stick to the "moderation" diet from now on, I may not lose the weight but I'll be a hell of a lot happier.
