| old99will's Full Review: Honda Generator Eu1000i |
I have owned a Honda EZ 2500 portable generator for about 6 years. I use it to power my tools on construction sites. I run various drills and saws and a rotary hammer. The biggest is an 8" worm-drive circular saw that is a power hog. It makes the generator work on start up but otherwise this generator handles it fine.
I picked Honda because it runs a bit quieter than most other brands and is a lot more fuel efficient. The 1 gal. gas tank will run me all day. It has a recoil rope pull start and it starts nearly always on the first try. There a two 120 V outlets.
The specs are: length= 20" width= 16 3/4" height= 16" weight= 80 lbs
It has a 4 stroke single cylinder engine and is rated at 19.2 amps -
2.3kVA output --2.5kVA max output
The whole unit is encased in a tubular steel frame which makes for easy handling and pickup. It takes very little room in my pickup to cary it and it is big enough to power any equipment I use. I expect it would double as emergency power in your home very adequatly although I have never had to use it for this purpose.
Be sure you lock it up when not using as these little generators are favorites for the sticky fingered crowd.
I find this little generator to be very dependable. Have had no problems except for a broken starting cord which is easily replaced (note you need metric tools)
