Pros:Thermostat, oscillating, ceramic, portable
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this. Please read the review.
My husband is cold all the time since June of this year. He was not like this before, but now his health has changed and he is having to take medications called "beta blockers" to reduce blood pressure which in turn can make a side effect worse which is where one is always cold. It can be 80 degrees outside and my husband will have a sweatshirt on and the fireplace going. Of course, I am sweating.
I thought the easiest way to solve this problem is to get him his own personal heater where he can heat his area and he will be more comfortable and in turn I will not suffer the effects of overheating.
Why a Ceramic Heater?
I knew I wanted a Ceramic heater because of the safety features they offer. Safety is another big problem we are recently encountering with my husbands latest health issues. With a ceramic element, it is able to operate at a temperature below the ignition temperature of most home materials. It also self-regulates the heat output in case the air inlet is blocked. So, in other words, if my husband gets disoriented or confused and not notice material around his heater, the major worry is not there as it would be with a kerosene, or a heater that uses a red glowing heat surface of one type or another.

Using It
The controls are located on the top of the heater. These controls are also backlit so one can see when the lights are dim or the lights are off. The thermostat is digital so you can set the exact temperature that you want and it is has a LCD screen. You can choose to continuous run or temperature. The continuous run lets you run it on high, medium, or low until you turn it off. The temperature mode puts it on the thermostat mode cycling the heater on and off to maintain your desired temperature +/-2 degrees. And then you have your fan only setting which just blows the warm air around you.
The oscillation feature works in both modes. Oscillation features in heaters are great since it pushes the warm air out faster. With this feature you have a choice of side-to-side or a wave pattern. The side-to-side pattern is like a fan turning to one side and then the other, making you warm for briefly then taking it away. The wave pattern is more constant.
There is also a timer feature that lets you set it to run for a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 10 hours and then it shuts itself off.
A remote control comes with this and we all know men love their remote control toys. The remote controls takes 2 AAA batteries and you and set the temperature and switch modes with the remote.
Conclusion
This is really a great portable heater that is featured loaded and really puts out the heat. The thermostat and oscillating features are my husband's favorites and it is lightweight enough to simply pick it up and take it room to room. His "zone" gets heated in approximately 5 minutes. I can only imagine with our temperatures dropping more and more how much use this will be getting this winter. But maybe our "gift of life" will come soon.
