This is simply the best cordless stick vac I have encountered. Right out of the box, this Hoover is a breeze to put together. There is ONE screw that secures the handle to the main vacuum body and the powerhead simply snaps on the suction tube. The battery and its charger are very simple to understand and I am very impressed how quickly the battery recharges.

Starting at the handle, this Hoover has a roller switch that has 2 "on" positions. The first position is just for suction and the second is for suction and the brushroll (separate motor). When I first turned it on after the battery was charged up, I just laughed. I was amazed at how this thing sounded. It sounds like a NORMAL, plug-it-in-the-wall vacuum and with that sound comes some very impressive suction.
The slender body of this Hoover has a bagless collection system with a washable filter. The dirt canister empties from the bottom with the simple press of a button. Hoover did a good job with the canister because it has 2 chambers which means the fuzz, lint and junk don't get wrapped around any filter pieces; they just whirl around in the bottom of the canister like a high-speed merry-go-round.
The powerhead is 11" wide and has a very low profile so getting under lower furniture is a cinch. The brushroll is very nicely made with a high bristle count and a chunky roller which helps provide more torque so the brush can power through thicker carpets with more ease. This Hoover features the acclaimed WindTunnel technology and I am going to vouch and say that most messes are picked up with just one pass. Bare floor pickup is very good as is the effectiveness on carpets.
The battery's life varies with use. When used only in the barefloor (suction only) mode, I was able to squeak out 15 minutes of runtime. When the brushroll was on, I was limited to 9 minutes, but that's why I bought a 2nd battery. The batteries don't fade until they are all but dead. There is strong performance right up to the point when the battery gauge is flashing "low charge". If I am not done vacuuming, I just pop the drained battery out and pop a fully charged battery in and just keep on going. Within 3 hours, the dead battery will be back to its fully vitality. Hoover claims that the batteries can be charged hundreds of times without any diminished performance.
This Hoover is light and very easy to carry. The body swivels with your wrist making the vacuum quite maneuverable and it takes very little effort to push or pull this unit. When you get close to walls, there is strong enough suction to pull debris up without scraping it along the baseboards.
I am very impressed with this machine and recommend it to anyone who wants to space out their "heavy duty" cleaning with their normal vacuums. This vacuum is great for small apartments, dorm rooms, grimy cleanups at home without lugging out the big guy and for spot cleaning under furniture and in tight quarters. The price has come down about $50 and is well worth the investment. I do recommend a 2nd battery!
