consumerquo's Full Review: Hoover F7411-900 SteamVac Upright Vacuum
I was impressed with the cleaning power and abilities of this vacuum for the first few months, and so I took great care of it, kept it clean, and did not abuse it so that I could enjoy it for as long as I had enjoyed my hoover vac. I had lifted the water canister by the handle, and to my surprise it snapped in two. My friend had bought one after I did because she was impressed with it, and she experienced the same break in the same week! The handle locks in the canister, and so it is necessary for operation. I had to get an entire canister with handle because of the design, and it broke again only a few months later. This time, I was out of warranty, so I engineered a fix that was quite ugly, but more reliable than the original design. Since then, I had some issues with the brushes not functioning because of more cheap plastics in the drive train (the plastic post that transmits the drive). Again the design requires the purchase of a large piece for the small one that broke. I'm done with hoover. BTW my wind tunnel turned out to do the same thing. I've gotten a Dyson since (reman) and I trust it more than I ever will a NEW hoover again. Dyson sucks alot better than hoover too.
