No More Scrubbing On Hands And Knees For My Grandma

  • Ease of Use:
  • Durability:
  • Ease of Cleaning:
Pros:extra attachments, caddy, stores in small space, works great
Cons:wish the tanks were bigger and that the cord was longer
The Bottom Line: There are a few inconveniences, but more so than not this is well worth the money and some.

My mother and I both have wet/dry vacuum cleaners in our home. My grandma had been using a regular old mop and bucket forever and then going back over the floor on hands and knees because she did not like how the grout was left looking dirty. Mom and I agreed that grandma needed something to help her and make quick work of not only cleaning the floor but the grout as well. We started looking at wet/dry vacuums and decided that the Hoover H3060 Spin Scrub 800 was the best value for her.

The Hoover H3060 has a few extras that other models we have looked at do not have. This model has interchangeable spin brush heads to get down into and clean out even the tough areas. The Hoover 3060 even comes with a portable caddy with tools and cleaner. There is no assembly required so al you have to do is add water and solution to get started. The price on this runs a little higher on this model than other wet/dry vacuums because of the extras. This model runs around $160 to $180 depending on where you purchase it.

Though this model costs a bit more the extras you get make it well worth the cost. The spin brush and grout brush are easily interchanged with very little effort. My grandma has no problem doing it on her own. This comes with a caddy that stores all of the extra tools and two cleaners. You get: a telescope wand with swivel nozzle, upholstery brush, the grout brush, and two cleaners (one for grout and one for sealed/hard wood floors). You can easily shut the brush roller off with your foot. When using the telescope wand along with attachments you have over 8 feet of total reach so you can get into cracks and crevasse easily like around the stove. All you have to do to clean your floor after you have added water and solution is turn it on and pull up the fingertip trigger on the handle to dispense the solution and start cleaning. The handle even folds down for easy storage.

This can be safely used on marble, ceramic tile, vinyl, laminated and sealed wood floors. I have even used the want with attachment to clean the grout between shower tiles. So much quicker and easier than doing it by hand. The cord is rather short at only 8 feet though so you may have to reposition it if you have a decent sized kitchen. The only other thing I can find to complain about this is that the clean water/solution tank only holds 1/4 gallon of water. This has to be changed at least once unless you have a small kitchen. On larger kitchens you may have to change the solution up to four times and the dirty water tank at least two times. The dirty water tank can be a bit of a pain to clean out also.

This wet/dry vacuum is well worth the extra you pay for it over all though. The extra attachments make this a huge time saver and it is easy to use. My grandma loves it and says she wishes that she would have had one sooner.
