Hot Sex: How to do it
Doubtless, even just the title makes people squirm. When it comes to instruction about sex, or sex-related topics, most people feel awkward. Tracey Cox's book is designed for just these people. From more definition-oriented chapters to pages devoted to advanced techniques (in all manners of sexual activity, not just sexual intercourse), Hot Sex really spans the gamut. Questions about contraception and sexually transmitted infections? Performance problems? Overheard some rumors you'd like to check on? This books is what you're looking for.
Many books of this type are too technical for most readers. Such books give us way more information than we would ever want. On the other hand, we can all name books we've peeked into that just didn't have that..y'know... we were were looking for. Tracey Cox's 'how to' book has nailed down what I think most people really need. General ideas for some things, specific helpers hints for others, and factual information all along. Some aspects of "Hot Sex" that are especially interesting to me:
In each section, Cox separates hints and "tricks of the trade" for both Him and Her. Cox also adds, Intermittently, some interesting statistics. For instance, did you know that the single most effective cancer screening tool in the history of modern medicine is The Pap smear test? (for the sake of our younger epinion readers, I'll limit myself to more mild statistics, but trust me...there are some VERY amazing statistics!)
In most sections of the book, Cox describes activities and ideas for the most inexperienced beginners, but also offers fresh material for the most experienced lovers. Some paragraph titles you'll likely find under most categories include: "How to make it even better," "How to vary it," "comfort rating for [him/her]," "Why it feels good," etc etc.
Yet another great formatting idea Cox uses, alongside Intermittent quotes, are quote boxes. In one chapter, you'll find what "Peter, 36, small business owner" says about "pushing all the right buttons." In another chapter, though, "Fiona, 22, receptionist" will express her opinion on female self-gratification.
As you can tell, I really can't praise "Hot Sex: How to Do It" enough. I recommend it to experienced lovers, to nervous beginners, and especially to curious youngsters. Among the helpful hints and enlightening information, Cox offers information that could save lives. For $12.95, I guarantee you'll learn and giggle, blush and be shocked. How many books do you know of that can do all that...AND improve your love life?
Hot Sex sure can!
