The Bottom Line: Not worth the money. Regular wipes work just as well. If you really want something natural, don't use wipes at all. Use a wet washcloth.
porcelina22's Full Review: Huggies Natural Care Baby Wipes
I am a big fan of natural baby products. I am currently in college to be a Naturopathic Pediatrician, so I am always on the lookout for a natural alternative to “normal” baby products.
One day, my husband happened to be shopping, and noticed that Huggies Natural Care Baby Wipes were on sale. So he bought two packages of them. I was happy to try something new, and seeing the word natural on the package piqued my interest.
The first thing I noticed was the reusable package that the wipes come in. The package holds 160 wipes, double what you find in a standard package of wipes. This scores Huggies one point on the environmentally conscious scale, as they are wasting less packaging. But, the Ziploc-type seal just doesn’t cut it!
We all know that baby wipes need to be wet to work! Well, after loading half of the package into my plastic wipes container, I sealed the package with the Ziploc seal. After using the wipes in my container, I went to get more. I opened the package, only to be met with some severely dehydrated wipies. They were emaciated, weak, and begging for mercy. I had to go to my kitchen sink and wet them down myself before they could be used.
My next major complaint about Huggies Natural Care Wipes is the smell. They have a very chemical smell, something I thought was odd coming from a “natural” wipe. The smell doesn’t seem to rub off on my daughter, which is the only thing keeping me from throwing the rest of these wipes out!
There are a few good things about these wipes. They do not contain alcohol, which makes it much nicer when baby has a diaper rash. There is no added fragrance, which is good for babies with sensitive skin. Unfortunately, it leads to that unpleasant smell.
I would suggest if you really want to use something all natural to take care of your child’s diaper needs, use a wet washcloth as a wipe. I would not recommend you wasting your money on these wipes.
