Pros: Keeps the sheets dry!
Cons: Sometimes they are necessary.
The Bottom Line: GoodNights are cheaper than a lot of other brands but they still work just fine.

Ok, here I am, running frantically after the bandwagon and hoping to catch up quickly enough to hop aboard. Frustrated because I've been able to see it for the past few weeks, sat there wishing I could figure out which way to go, but at every turn I was thwarted by our wonderful Epinions database not having that "perfect" item that I could review in Hard_To_Please ways.
I spent the weekend searching through the house, found tons of books that I knew that Mark would appreciate, but obviously Epinions just doesn't have that same sense of humor.
So I started talking with the family. Trying to remember some of our truly most embarassing moments together. When finally it hit me ... today, while at school yet another person posted a diaper review. What better type of item to review for Mark and all his urinary references. :-)
Now, although I don't have the knack that he has with his way with words, I do have something humorous that will either have you laughing or turning up your nose and saying "ewwwwww".

{Flashback - Sometime about five years ago}
5am - The entire household is woken with a scream that was more terrifying than those in Halloween movies, more grating than finger nails on a chalk board.
Everyone runs to our daughters bedroom, where out current guest has confiscated the bottom bunk and forced my oldest daughter to take the top. My daughter is crying, my guest is yelling and frantically ripping apart the bed sheets. And for some reason her entire right side, hair, shoulder, shirt, and soaked.
"She peed on me!! She PEED on me!!" Our guest ran to the bathroom, slamming the door shut, past the family trying to contain any giggles that might possibly escape.

The True Meaning of a Water Bed!

{Fast Forward - Just This Summer}
My oldest daughter was house-sitting for my mother over night and my youngest went to spend the night with her. Early the next morning we received a call asking for us to bring some clothes over to her.
During the night, the two girls sharing Grammy's water bed, one wiggles and squirms all night and ends up head to toe. When the oldest is woken up with fears of holes in the waterbed, she soon finds out that her sister had an accident. Unfortunately, my oldest daughter wasn't too pleased to have her shirt, hair, and pillow practically soaked.

Where Were the Good Nights When You Need Them?!

In neither of these horrifyingly funny instances of late night bladder releases was my youngest wearing any type of pull-ups. After all, it's been a long time since she had an accident. Each of the times she was no longer sleeping in the same bed, she was staying up late and playing, and got way too excited so when they went to sleep they were so exhausted that mother nature didn't bother to wake her up before the storm hit.

Yes, We Really Did Use Good Nights!

Although it might sound that we never used big kid pants, these were two ocassions that happened after she had stopped having accidents.
Although they didn't have Good Nights when my oldest really needed them, my youngest definitely kept me from having to change the sheets every night.
Although she used the "Pull Ups" while she was potty training, it wasn't until she was older that we tried the Good Nights. When we moved, and her parents were going through a divorce, and nothing was as it should be, she started having accidents again.
Without wanting to embarass her totally, we did talk with her and decided to try the Good Nights. We were really lucky that she has a small butt, because the largest ones fit rather snuggly. They weren't too tight that they left the indentation on the thighs, but when she wore a night gown you couldn't tell that she was wearing any type of protection.
This was really great since she was starting to go to friends birthday party sleepovers. She wasn't embarassed, she just took her little overnight bag into the bathroom to get changed for bed, and nobody knew the difference.
Of course, now all the kids in the neighborhood are probably going to find out that I write for Epinions, and we are going to have to move somewhere on a different continent (better than InContinent) (ooh, ooh, did I make a joke?)But considering most of them had the same problem I don't see any troubles coming from this review.

Why We Chose Good Nights!

First and foremost ... They were the Cheapest!! Plain and simple. I didn't go through all the diaper and big kid pants reviews on Epinions ... I found a coupon, it was already cheaper than the other brands, they had the right size, that's good enough for us!

Did They Work?!
===================================================
Yep, they did the job two-fold ... no more did we have any "plumbing problems" but they actually helped relax my daughter so she wasn't so uptight about going to bed. When she was ready, she let us know that she hadn't had any accidents in a few days and she wanted to try without. She made sure she went pee before she went to bed, she didn't get a drink of water before turning out the light, and she was dry and more confident the next morning.

My Wish For Mark!

Mark, keep using the hat ... you'd hate to start wearing the adult version of the "Good Nights". On the other hand, with all the nurses hands all over you, I guess you don't get a "Good Night" anyway.
Keep laughing, keep your chin up, and if the big, bully of a nurse harasses you too much, just remember the story of the water fall and use that "hat" for a good laugh and douse her once. :-)
