iJoy HT2310 is My Dream Comes True!
My dream finally came true! I don't know about you, but owning a massage chair was only a dream because massage chairs are very expensive.
The closest thing I did to get to close to one of these expensive massage chairs was to visit the Shaper Image in the nearest mall. I used to go to the mall and stopped by the Shaper Image store and got a free massage while the sales representative poured his/her heart out and tried to convince me to buy one. How many of you are guilty of visiting the Shaper Image store, getting a free massage without buying? :) No wonder, they went out of business, now I miss the Shaper Image store.
Well, let's get back to the topic! I will tell you my wonderful experience of owning my first iJoy massage chair.
The Pain of Having Back Pain
I don't know about you, but I have been suffering from having lower back pain and stiffness in the upper back area. As a Web Analyst, I sit a lot in front of computer all day and after I came back from work, I sit some more in front of my laptop to write reviews on epinions.com. The pain on my back was killing me slowly, it was so hard to go to bed with the back pain.
Save Some Money by Going Less to a Massage Therapist
When I couldn't afford to go to a massage therapist, I used to ask my wife to massage my back, but when she was tired, she would be unable to massage me and I had to bear the back pain until the next morning. My wife is actually very happy that I bought this, so she can take a break from massaging my back, bless her heart.
One hour of massage session at my massage therapist cost $100 and I had to pay $20 co-pay! Since I moved to a different job, now my health insurance doesn't cover massage therapist visits, so I have to pay $100 out of my own pocket!
I bought the iJoy 2310 massage chair for $400 on Ebay and that's like 4 sessions of massage therapy! So I finally decided to invest my money to buy the iJoy massage chair because I can't afford to keep going to my massage therapy :(
I really wanted the HT-275 Human Touch model but it costs $1500 and I didn't have $1500! So I settled down with the $400 iJoy 2310 massage chair, so I could pay it cash!
WHAT DO I LIKE ABOUT THE iJOY 2310? Easy Installation
I have to give A+++ to the iJoy people for making the installation very easy! The iJoy 2310 massage chair is not very heavy! I could lift the chair out of the box without getting back pain! I think, the chair is pretty light for me. The box is huge, it was hard to carry because I am only 5'7 feet tall. I live on 2nd floor in our condominium complex, thanks to the shipping person, he was nice enough to carry the big box to the 2nd floor with his hand truck.
There are 2 parts of the chair, the part where you sit on and the back rest. The installation is very easy once you get the parts of out the box, I did it without reading the instructions.
I had to unscrew the 2 screws in the bottom of the back rest part, then attach the backrest part to the part where you sit and put the screws back on to lock the back rest to the bottom part. It took me 5 minutes to assemble the chair!
It is a wonderful and comfortable recliner chair too!
The iJoy 2310 massage chair can recline! There is a recline-release handle on the right side of the chair! I love it because I can use the massage chair to sit down comfortably while I am watching movies on my Panasonic Viera 1080p HDTV!
The recliner is very comfortable on both upright position and reclined position. Even when I am not using the massage chair, I like just to sit on it and read my books. Some people may not the faux leather cover and prefer cloth cover but I really like the faux leather cover. I prefer leather-suede, but the faux leather is good enough for me.
I am 5'7 and 165 lb, this chair is perfect for me. I think if you are over 200 lb and over 6'4 feet tall, this chair will not fit your need. The seating area is a little bit narrow for BIG people.
The Price is Right
I had been salivating every time I saw a massage chairs because I really wanted to own one but I couldn't afford it. Finally, there was a brand new iJoy massage chair that I could afford for $400 on Ebay with a free shipping! Remember, one session of massage therapy can cost you $60-$100 easily, so $400 is not that bad! It is like paying $400 upfront for 4 1 hour session of massage therapies
Custom Massage Modes
There are 3 pre-configured default modes. P1 which is for Sore Muscle Relief, P2 which is for Stress Therapy, and P3 which is for Back Wellness.
After that, you can customize your own massage, you can choose whether you want to concentrate the massage on your lower part of your back or your upper part of your back. The button is called Zone Control on the remote.
You can also customize the type of massages, you can choose either kneeding mode, percussion mode, compression mode or rolling mode.
My wife asked me if this chair does leg massages since she has legs pain problem, but the 2310 only gives upper, middle and lower back massages! It doesn't give you butt, upper & lower thighs and leg massages.
You can buy the additional $200-$399 iJoy ottoman part if you want a leg massage, but I didn't have the money to buy the ottoman. It is really too bad that there is no massage roller inside the seating area, but I think, if there is a massage roller underneath my butt, this chair won't be too comfortable to sit on for a long time.
The more expensive model HT-275 comes with lower butt, thighs and leg massages, but it costs $1500+, I would have bought this model if I have plenty of money, but I didn't.
The remote control is simple and easy to understand
I can thank iJoy enough for making the remote so simple and easy to use. I don't want to think when I am getting my massages. The 3 pre-configured massage modes are great, if I am having a back pain, I press P1 button to get rid of the back pain and if I am stress, I just press the P2 button to get rid of my stress.
It gives powerful massages
When I tried the iJoy 2310 massage chair for the first time, I felt kind of disapointed, because I love hard and deep massage therapy. I thought the massage was too weak and not powerful enough. Well, it was my fault that I didn't read the manual in the beginning. After I read the manual, it says that I can remove the cushion inside the back rest part to get maximum powerful massages.
There is a cushion inserted inside back rest part that you can remove if you love powerful and hard massages, but if you love soft and gentle massages, you just leave the cushion inside the back rest part. Don't throw away the cushion after you remove it, just keep it somewhere safe. Faux Leather & Sofsuede (Keep Cats, Pets and Kids Away from This Chair)
I really love this chair because it does have the Faux leather and sofsuede cover. It says that it is maintenance free, I don't know about that. I am going to maintain it anyway, it is $400 chair, so I have to maintain it! I love the handrests, they are in perfect location!
If you have cats at home and kids, move them away from the chair, because they can rip your nice massage chair apart! When I was little kid, my cats used to do their sharp nail exercises on my dad's sofas and all of our sofas were torn!
WHAT IS IT THAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE CHAIR?
iJoy claims that the chair has a rugged construction and it is hard to destroy, yeah right! The Faux leather needs tender loving care because I can tell right away that it can rip very easily if you are being too rough (no sex on the chair because you will destroy it). I know that you and your wife will be tempted to do it, but don't and refrain from it, do it somewhere else, but not on the iJoy! I don't believe iJoy claim that the chair is rough and tough.
The iJoy 2310 only gives upper, middle, and lower area back massages! It doesn't massage your butt area, upper and lower thigh area. I really wish they built a masager for the lower thighs on this model
WILL I RECOMMEND THE iJoy 2310 MASSAGE CHAIR?
My answer is "Yes, go buy it on Ebay!" You only live once, enjoy it and buy the iJoy 2310, so you can shout like Mel Gibson in Brave Heart "FREEDOM FROM BACK PAIN!!!" I really recommend this chair for those of you who have been suffering from back pain and have tight budget. Make sure you consult with your doctors and medical professional if you can use this or not before you buy it.

In conclusion, I am EXTREMELY happy and EXCITED to finally own a massage chair. I can sleep well at night without suffering from my back pain. Owning the iJoy 2310 massage chair is like having your own personal masseuse that you can call upon when ever you need a massage. So I will end this review by shouting "FREEDOM FROM BACK PAIN!"
