| Pyr8's Full Review: IBM (33L3250) Mouse |
I Bought this wonderful little mouse while browsing a local computer store, being the ever thrift fool I am, I seen it was on sale for only $19.99. Which was $15 cheaper than the regularly listed price.
Now I have never, until this point, used a mouse that didn't have a trackball of some sort in it, and now, I never will use a track ball again.
The feel of this mouse is well contured to my hand, I don't know that it will fit everyone but it fits mine like a glove. It moves well over any surface, so I threw out my old mouse pad. :)
It quietly slides across the desk alloting for only soft subtle clickings signate it's use in the middle of a dead silent night.
The Drivers for this mouse, well, I use windows 98 SE with this little treasure and it just started working without me installing anything. I just plugged it in, turned on the pc, and it worked. :-D I used both the ps2 adaptor that came with it to plug into the ps2 interface and the usb native plug in the usb port( and yes I tried both USB ports too ), Just to see if the mouse would function different on either one, Much to my pleasure, no matter how I tried it, it just works.
The center Scroll Button allows for you to scroll up and down as well as left with the wheel ( single click it on what you want to scroll), and right by just a slight tug of the wrist in either direction ( again just single click the wheel where you want to scroll).
I really don't know what software the device came with. as I have never had a reason to install the software from the cd that it came with. :)
The only thing I've ever done, and I didn't even NEED to, was wipe off the mouse with some glass cleaner on a rag, while cleaning my monitor. In 18 months it's has required no special care, no repairing, Just works.
If you want a smooth using mouse, that never needs a trackball replacement or cleaning, and runs from the word go without installing any software for it, THIS IS IT!.
From the computer literate, to the computer idiot, I'd say this is the best product for your dime. :)
