I got this laptop after 5 days. It came with everything mentioned above and I made sure it has all the ports it's suppose to have and all the specs listed above. It came with a battery and ac adapter. I've been running this
laptop now for approximately 3 hours and its doing great, it has heated up a bit and I can feel it on the my lap, but it isnt real hot, its warm-hot. I am not a high end gamer, I intend to use it for Word Processing/E-mail/Internet. So, I cant tell how its video card or shared video is. Actually, I did try to run Grand Theft Auto 3, but the video card wasnt big enough. I thought with a 128MB ram it'll be slow, but its actually faster than my desktop which is AMD 550ghz/512MB. So, I dont feel the need to upgrade the ram right now. The CDRW is 8x, and its fast, I've installed norton and office and it's went smoothly. I do sometimes hear some weird noise during the intervals, but i cant pin point what it is, it was there for like 5 minutes, every 2 min i heard it, probably just the system running, if i find it i'll try to see what it was. The Wireless function is awesome, I've tried with a Linksys/NetGear/Belkin Wireless Access Point, I didnt have to install any drivers, it recognized it automatically, just like plug and play. The ethernet function works. The Sound is real good too, the buttons are conveniently located above the keyboard to lower/raise the volume. It has 2 USB ports and all the others you'll ever need. There are a lot of integrated IBM programs on there, so many that appear on startup. One shows a percentage , I guess it shows the battery's life. The others are related to laptop which I have yet to explore.
A lot of people recommended I get a T23 or R31, which are probably way better in this, but I honestly wouldnt have been able to tell the difference, I'm that of a hardcorse user. For me, the R30 presented itself as a great buy and its working great for me at the moment, if anything
should arise I'll be the first to post it. Lastly, I thought I would need a floppy, but now i'm thinking , i'll just use a cdrw to burn stuff on it and then erase it. I would like to buy a car adapter.
Overall, I am VERY HAPPY with this laptop and have no regrets, honestly in me purchasing a wireless card, carrying case, I would have spent more than I could have afforded on a new or refurbished T23 or R31. Oh yeah, the
graphics and sounds are awesome, i ran some Windows Media Player videos and it runs better on the laptop than on the desktop.
Lastly, THIS IS A VERY LIGHT LAPTOP, Like 5.4lbs, Which was the biggest plus in my books.
