Pros: Picture quality, Price, design
Cons: barebone extras
I purchased this Television set long ago (2 years), while I was in Tech school in Biloxi, MS. I really didnt expect too much from this TV set and certainly didnt think I would still have it and watch on a daily basis. I originally purchased this to keep me occupied after classes. But, like they say dont judge a book by its cover. Do not judge this television by its price.
HDTV built in...95/100
This television is HD ready. Meaning the HD tuner is integrated inside of the television, which is a huge bonus for the average consumer. This particular TV will do up to 1080i. So dont expect to push this baby to the absolute max. However, this is not too much of a problem seeing as how there is very little difference between 1080i and 1080p. Some actually argue the fact 1080i may be a little better, because it has a faster refresh rate then 1080p. But, 1080p does put a little bit nicer picture, which is why it was a little bit down in this department. You wont get a much better TV for the price of this one though.
480i/p pretty much the lowest output considered HD
576i/p - Well better then 420p, but not really what you want.
720p- Getting better and the quality will start to show.
1080i- Excellent almost the best and arguably tied.
1080p- Puts out the best picture with a little lower refresh rate.
*As long as you TV set puts out at least 1080i/p you are set and experiencing the truest HD form. If you set is 720p its really good, but missing out on a lot. If your set is 480-576i/p and youre a perfectionist you should look into upgrading your TV.
The picture is crystal clear. This is just how the picture of a HD TV should be. This TV puts out up to 1080i and it displays this with excellence. The picture is sharp, and the resolution is great. I have bought this television over a year ago and its still going strong. I have only recently replaced/upgraded my television, but it wasnt, because of picture quality, but screen size. I still watch this television a lot in my daughters room. I bought this a little over 2 years ago and the picture quality has not dropped! This has a picture you can depend on. It will stay Crystal-Clear as long as you take care of it.
If there is one knock on this TV it is the sound Its not that its bad sound dont get me wrong. The sound is actually very good. Its just if youre watching a movie you need to turn it up pretty loud. Generally when I am watching a movie I will have the volume up at about 45-55 usually somewhere in there. However, when the movie is finished and you go back to watching regular TV it can be quite loud until you get it under control pretty quick.
So in the recap for some reason you do need to crank it up a little too high when you are watching a movie. Not all the time, but I have encountered this quite a bit of times. But, the sound is high quality especially for the price.
The design is nice and slim as we come to expect for LCD televisions. I do however, wish that the screen were easier to adjust tilting it up or down for you viewing pleasure can be a little annoying. That is the only knock here though and its really not that bad. This is a very well put together TV with the consumers satisfaction put first.
This also has plenty of AV cable outputs along with the HD-outputs to go along with it. This TV was designed with time and care, which is always good for the consumer. The LCD screen is also of high quality and you get very limited amounts of glare on it. Even when the sun is reflecting off of the screen.
I have been through 2 Moves since I bought this TV. Not only has it made it through both of the moves it has worked just like it has since day one. I can really tell you this is one television you will not need to worry about breaking. Now of course I dont mean go and throw it on the floor, but if you move every now and then you have nothing to worry about. This TV will hold up on your moves, and work just as excellent as it has before.
Well other then it being HD-Ready out of the box and displaying up to 1080i you really dont get anything else. There isnt any picture in picture or any other special modes other TVs have. If you think about the basic features like sleep timers and so fourth Those are the types of modes this TV has for you to play around with.
I was never a really big fan of Picture-in-Picture so this really didnt bother me at all. If you are big into those things you may want to dig a little deeper, because this TV wont satisfy you tech needs. This is pretty much just bare bones when it comes to extra features.
This ILO LCD-HD-Ready television set is definitely worth the price. It is a steal for the quality you get. This easily beats out competing TV sets in the 26 LCD market, because not only is it HD-Ready, it also puts out 1080i, which puts most offerings to shame. I bought this and it was one of my better investments I have made in terms of usage, and how long I will probably have this product. I couldnt have asked for anything more. I bought this set little over 2 years ago and still use it daily. I would not hesitate to buy anther ILO. These are really good TVs for the price you cant pass it up!
